Surrounded by the vineyards and lavender fields of Provence, Lorgues is without doubt one of the most picturesque and thriving towns in Provence.
Whilst retaining all the charm of a perfect Provencal village, Lorgues is within easy reach of the glamorous Cote d’Azur and St Tropez.
Every Tuesday, Lorgues hosts its famous Market, which attracts sellers from across the Region and is considered the best in the Var.
There is every conceivable sporting activity in the area. There are excellent Golf Courses in the Var - St Endreol being one of the loveliest. There are many opportunities for horseriding and fishing is also a popular pastime locally.
This is a fascinating part of France both historically and architecturally with Roman relics around every corner. The Cistercian Abbey of Le Thoronet is just outside Lorgues.
The countryside is exceptionally beautiful and varied with scenery changing gradually from the Mediterranean coastline to the vineyards, forests and mountain regions. A large percentage of the excellent Provencal wine is produced in the area, surrounding Lorgues.
