This bright loft style two bedroom apartment on the lower ground floor of a Georgian terrace provides excellent accommodation for a family! A private entrance welcomes you to an open plan lounge area that extends through the kitchen to the conservatory and patio garden beyond. Two integral bedrooms and a bathroom with full size bath with shower complete the accommodation to allow plenty of living space for a family of four, five or six. This colourful open plan apartment is brilliant as a base for a taste of authentic London. After a busy day exploring, your London home will be a welcome oasis of peace and quiet. Each to his own... a relaxing bath, a cool glass of wine on the patio, connect online to plan the next day or play that PS3 game...

Marylebone and the heart of London are on your doorstep with Marble Arch and Oxford Street a 15 minute walk through the Georgian streets of the West End. The Planetarium and Madame Tussaud's are 6 mins walk, just beyond the curious Sherlock Holmes ‘museum’ in Baker Street. Grab a bus or tube from Marylebone Station and before you know it you will be admiring the Big Ben from the South Bank and the London Eye. The British Museum, the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, the Tate Modern are all within half an hour’s travel.

This is authentic London so try traditional London fayre around the corner at The Pie Shop, get fish and chips at the Seashell or enjoy Sunday lunch at The Chapel our favourite local pub with a fine selection of beers and gourmet menu. Cooking is made easy with the best pans ever, well that is what we think of Analon pans. Both Tesco Express and Marks & Spencer are less than 5 minutes away so grocery shopping is quick. Eating in can be fun too and helps balance the budget! And because we know that a good coffee or tea *whenever you want* can be essential, we have made sure that the kitchen comes fully kitted out for that perfect crema espresso or that fragrant cuppa. Elegant wine glasses with plenty of modern dishes will quickly make your meal at your London home taste yum! Don't want to cook? Just order a takeaway for delivery within the hour. Atmospheric lighting gets you in the mood to just crash out in your own London hideaway.

Choose from the selection of blu-ray DVDs that offer brilliant picture quality. Did I mention we work in film and TV production? Chill to your own music by connecting to our hifi using bluetooth. A Playstation 3 with multiple controllers and many games that our son has reluctantly left...

Two comfortable sleeping zones are private and compact. One is an intimate double with many lighting options to set the mood, projection clock and many books. The other has two single beds with controllable up and down settings to set the bed just how you like it. Two pouffes convert to two extra beds as an option if there are more than 4 of you in your party. A private space can be sectioned off in the computer lounge for these single beds. Plenty of wardrobe and shelf space for all.

Constant hot running water for a full size bath to relax or a refreshing shower: the choice is yours. Chunky fluffy towels give you that luxurious feel. If you are staying a bit longer, feel free to use the efficient AEG washer dryer. The 30 degree time saving wash gets things done in just over an hour. Clothes dryer and ironing board as well as a hair-dryer are all part of the grooming kit that we offer.

About maryke

Growing up on three continents it is not surprising that I have got the travel bug and have lived in different places. Now that my children are teenagers I love exploring with them too. In the last few years we have been lucky enough to do the New York to LA road trip (me driving all the way!), to fall in love with Bali, and to find that there is a whole lot more of Northern Europe than we realised by visiting Nordkapp. Last year we watched the world come to London for the Olympics but did sneak out for hot sunshine in Gozo near Malta. This summer we were enthralled by Morocco, its food, its natural beauty, its creativity. We'll be back!

Why maryke chose Marylebone

This apartment is our family home in London. Working in the film and video industries in Soho, we chose for Central London living rather than the daily commuter grind from suburbia. We could not believe our luck when we found an affordable property in Central London with a private entrance and even a little garden! Just a short walk to the Regent's Park playgrounds and all of Central London on our doorstep. Easy.

What makes this apartment unique

Although we were lucky to find this place, it did need a lot of work! A solid concrete second world war air raid shelter took up half the garden and seventies non-chique decor impelled us to get rid of strange 'features' including most internal walls. Guess what? We never put them back! The light coming in through the front and the back was so stunning that we just did not have the heart to block it all up again. The result is a kind of loft style apartment in a lower ground floor traditional Georgian terrace. In order to allow us as much living space as possible, we created small internal sleeping zones (which do have doors so there is privacy!). The result is a comfortable very modern apartment with all modern conveniences at the tip of your fingers.

I'm in the UK quite regularly and as I'm always out and about, the location of the flat was key for me. Paddington, Edgware and Maryleborne all in easy reach, absolutely superb. And even in easy walking distance of other attractions that I visited whilst there: Lords Cricket Ground, Madame Tussards and Regents Park. Would definitely stay again on my next trip to London - it felt like a home away from home where I could eat my breakfast in my pyjamas and watch Sky News whilst checking my emails on my iPad thanks to the free wi-fi - much better than a hotel!

Home away from home

We took our first trip abroad this summer and stayed in this perfect London flat. You are welcomed on first site of the bright blue door. The kitchen has everything you need and the private patio is so welcoming. Definitely get fish and chips to go from the seafood joint around the corner. We walked to the tube stations and could have had a more enjoyable trip. Thanks!!

Top lovation but NOT Suited for wet season

We chose this for the location which is very good

However given the flat is lower ground floor this is definitely not well suited for the wet season as it is impossibly to get rid of the damp and moist

The level of cleaning was very bad to put it nicely, definitely nOt up the standard you would expect.

It is described as being suitable for a large group but this is not the case as there are only two so called bedrooms , the one is open towards the living room wich makes the living room unsuited as a sleeping area.

When we spoke on the phone it would have been great to know that was a problem as I am sure that we could have attended to that during your stay.

When we converted the apartment we chose to create a large living space. Now there is lots of light coming from both the front and the back of the apartment. When we lived here with our two small children we found this layout to be really convenient.

It really is really useful for us to have the pointers from our guests so that we can remedy anything that needs attention, so that we can make sure that we improve our services all the time. Thanks for taking the time to let us know! Kind regards, Maryke.

Un très bel appartement pour la famille

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Marylebone . L'appartement est idéalement situé pour découvrir Londres et ses merveilles , à proximité directe de 2 stations de métro et plusieurs lignes de bus . Le quartier est très calme et très propre et à quelques minutes en métro de Picadilly .
Nous avons séjourné à 5 ( 2 adultes , 3 enfants de 8 à 11 ans ) dans l'appartement et hormis le lit supplémentaire qui est trop petit et moyennement confortable , tout était parfait : équipement de la cuisine , lave linge , linge de maison , déco , accueil et restitution des clés .... Bref je recommande vivement cet appartement pour une famille .

Just to explain, the spare beds that we have for our 5th and 6th guests are single bed size and inevitably the mattress, which is supported by a frame, is thinner than conventional beds so that it can be collapsed into pouffe. London Vacation

Excellent location for getting around London! My husband and I travel quite a bit, and we typically take cabs when staying in the city, but not here! We were able to take the Tube everywhere. The apartment was as described in the listing. It was just 2 of us staying in the apartment. The owner provided excellent customer service. The manager of the property scheduled a cab to pick us up from the airport, and the driver was waiting for us as we came out of customs--made for a smooth ending to our long day.

Marylebone state of mind

My family and I had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful flat! Everything was perfect: tesco, to buy something to eat is very near and also a cafe and, of course, the underground station.
The flat is very close to Baker's Street for Sherlock Holmes' fans and Regent park (you don'y have to lose this Amazing garden)!
We hope to come back very soon in this apartement! My brothers are 10 and 12 years old and they appreciate a lot the huge TV with a lot of movies that we put in Italian Language!
I really recommend it to all of you!! and last but not least.. Maryke and her staff very nice!!!

At dusk experience 'little Arabia' in Edgware Road as it leads to Marble Arch and try some fabulous Lebanese specialities. We still haven't decided with curry house is our favourite but we enjoy experimenting! Shops open conveniently from early til late for last minute groceries so you never go without. All you would expect from modern metropolitan living.

  • Constant hot running water for a relaxing bath or a refreshing shower. The toilet and washbasin are kept off the floor so keeping things clean is very easy. Plenty of space for everyone's toiletries in the large mirror fronted cupboard which is conveniently integrated above the washbasin.

  • Two comfortable internal sleeping zones are private but small. When remodelling we decided to use most of the available space for living rather than sleeping. Having said that, the beds are extremely comfortable. The double bedroom has a large double which is 150 cm wide together with a built in wardrobe which offers hanging space and shelves with baskets for smalls. Two doors open onto the bedroom which allow flexible use of the area. They can be closed for complete privacy or folded back to let daylight in. The other bedroom has two single beds - which of course can be pushed together for a double too. These beds have a luxurious up and down mechanism which makes reading in bed just so comfortable. There is a large built in wardrobe with plenty of hanging and drawer space. This is also where you find the ironing board and clothes rack for drying. If your party has more than four, for extra guests, there are two folding beds which can be placed in the computer lounge area.
