Why choose Devon for your holidays or more specifically Colyton?

Well for one thing Colyton is a small medieval town with a big village atmosphere and has won 'Best Kept Village' competition several times. A warm and friendly welcome is assured form all. We have a magnificent church and a rebellious history. Colyton is 3 miles from the coast yet is set in unspoilt countryside on the banks of the River Coly.

There is a wide choice of places to visit from beautiful beaches to National trust houses, from wonderful countryside walks to busy market towns, from golf courses to horse riding, from model trains to glorious garden centres, from fishing to tram rides. There are also several adventure parks nearby.

Tram

'Seaton Tramway operates narrow gauge heritage trams between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton in East Devon's glorious Axe Valley, travelling alongside the River Axe estuary through two nature reserves and giving an unrivalled view of the abundant wading bird life.'

Pecorama

'One of Devon’s leading visitor attractions located high on the hillside above the picturesque fishing village of Beer , PECORAMA is home to the famous PECO Model Railway Exhibition and the Beer Heights Light Railway.'

Donkey Sanctuary

'Since 1969 we have taken over 12,000 donkeys into our care in the UK and Ireland and have over 45 welfare officers who can follow up reports of cruelty to or neglect of donkeys, quickly and efficiently.'

Woodlands

'Great family days out at a fantastic theme park. Looking for a fun day out for families and children in Devon? Thrilling family rides, indoor & outdoor attractions, animals & action. Playzones provide family entertainment for all ages. All Weather Fun Guaranteed!'

Crealy

'All about a great family day out at Crealy Great Adventure Parks - the South West's favourite family day out!!'

Jurassic Coast Line

'Between Exmouth in Devon and Old Harry Rocks, Swanage in Dorset can be found one of the most complete sequences through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods of geological time anywhere in the world.'

Lyme Bay Cider

'The Lyme Bay Winery combines the traditional skills of cidermaking with modern production techniques to produce a range of ciders. For over a decade the Lyme Bay Winery has used the freshly pressed juice of locally grown, traditional cider apple varieties (such as Dabinett, Kingston Black and Yarlington Mill) to produce a range of great tasting draught and bottled ciders.'
