The perfect base

I spent 10 days in April 2014 in St Lucia with my wife and daughter (first visit). This villa is in Rodney Bay and near 2 excellent supermarkets and shopping malls. There are loads of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. And there's also nearby take away options. The bus stop for Gros Islet, Rodney Bay marina and Castries a 5 minute walk away. The villa is a 10 to 15 minute walk from Reduit beach.

The villa itself is lovely. The ground floor mainly comprises a kitchen that opens out to an open plan dining area with table and chairs, and spacious lounge with 2 large white leather sofas and a huge flat screen TV with separate DVD player. The kitchen has all the crockery, utensils, glasses etc. that you should need and there is a large American style fridge/freezer. There is a cooker and hob but no microwave. There's a breakfast bar along one side of the kitchen. At the end of the apartment on the ground floor are some French doors leading to an outside dining/patio area with views of the swimming pool, garden area (which includes sun loungers and umbrellas), private mooring area for boats and Rodney Bay beyond. The view is beautiful and it is incredibly quiet and tranquil.

The decoration is contemporary the whole apartment is very attractive looking. There is no air conditioning on the ground floor so it can get hot but during the day but open the back door and French doors and there is a lovely breeze that blows through. On the upper floor there are 2 large air conditioned bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Each had French doors leading to balconies. The master bedroom balcony sports a table and 2 chairs with a fantastic view of the pool, gardens and bay. The other balcony is effectively road side and the view is unattractive.

The service was excellent. The owners were responsive to emails when arranging the holiday and emailed us when we were there as well. Upon arrival we met with Zan who manages the property and Irene who is the housekeeper. Zan helped with a trip for us and to organise a hire car for 4 days. Irene attended most days and kept the apartment really well. She was also very friendly with our daughter and was a useful source of local information. The swimming pool and garden areas were also kept immaculately.

This villa proved to be a great choice and we found it to be the perfect base for exploring St Lucia. It feels genuinely luxurious and is recommended.

Home away from home

We stayed with our 2 year old son at the Reserve. The owners had contacted us in person to let us know that the place was not childproof- which was really thoughtful of them.
From the minute we landed the hospitality was fantastic and this continued through our entire stay.
The property is ideally located for the local amenities and is a short walk from the beach.
Irene did a great job of keeping the place spick-and-span through out our stay, taking care of the dishes and laundry that made it feel like it was a real holiday.
The swimming pool a few yards away from the back balcony was really welcoming and made quick swims very convenient.
We found the staff really friendly and one evening we had an amazing local meal cooked by Mark.
Overall we had an incredible holiday and even managed to have down time with a 2 year old which we didn't think would be possible. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends who don't have kids but would also happily recommend it to those who do.

Perfect spacious modern apartment.

This was our first visit to St. Lucia (Rodney Bay). Great place! The apartment was in a perfect, peaceful location, with a wonderful outlook. We were welcomed on our arrival and made to feel very comfortable. A lovely 2 bedroomed modern apartment… like home from home. It was clean and well maintained. Rodney Bay is a great place for things to do, with a lovely beach nearby and great restaurants. We will definitely return.

We loved our stay at The Reserve!

We stayed in Villa Frangipani at The Reserve for 9 nights in January. We loved the condo and the location. It is very spacious and well equipped and plenty of towels were supplied. With the windows, patio and balcony doors open, there was a great breeze and we never needed the AC. There are no security concerns with The Reserve entrance being locked and a guard on duty at night. It is very convenient to restaurants (we liked Tapas On the Bay which is right around the corner), grocery stores, shopping and a casino. Once we found that we could get to the beach by going in near Marie’s (where we had an awesome lunch) instead of all the way down to Spinnakers, the beach was not too far away. The owner was very helpful in providing information before our arrival. The property manager, Zan helped make sure we had what we needed while we were there and was available if we had any questions. She arranged out airport transfers – VIP to the condo and helicopter return along with a tour. They were all booked through Serenity and everything booked through Serenity went very smoothly. The pool and grounds were very well kept. The groundskeeper, Mark went out of his way to be friendly and helpful and even prepared a great lunch for us one day while giving us a cooking lesson. Danica kept the condo spotless and helped me figure out the stove and washer. I would definitely recommend a stay. In Villa Frangipani and would want to stay there if I return to St Lucia.

Tropical getaway to remember

I stayed at The Reserve for 5 days while on a working vacation and enjoyed the time immensely. The Reserve was a welcomed destination after a long day and a half of traveling. When I arrived the housekeeper, Irene, was there to meet me and show me the condo and I met Mark, the groundskeeper, who was friendly and helpful as well. The Reserve is conveniently located near groceries, restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. When not working, I spent most of my time reading by or floating in the pool and sightseeing. Having a fully equipped kitchen was a plus, it was easy to prepare meals and more importantly, coffee. There was a really enjoyable breeze/wind during my stay that kept the condo comfortable enough to go without using the air conditioner once. I've recommended St. Lucia and The Reserve to all my friends and am looking forward to when I can go back!

Paradise in St Lucia

Wow ! We have just had a holiday of a lifetime at 'The Reserve' at Rodney Bay thanks to Kevan and Cheryl, owners of 'Be Special' holidays.
The appt at 'The Reserve' in Rodney Bay is amazing ! It is spacious, stylishly furnished and in a brilliant location only a few minutes walk to all amenities. To the rear of the property is a lovely garden which is maintanined every day and a beautiful pool which is cleaned every day and is right on the edge of the marina.
At The Reserve you have the choice of being independant or being treated like royalty.
We did both ! Cooking in is a dream as the kitchen is so well equipped, with every conceivable piece of equipment you would ever Require ! But if you would rather be waited on , Lisa will be on hand to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for you and boy is she a good cook !
The appt was kept immaculate every day by Slyvia, with fresh towels in abundance !
There is a huge TV with satellite and DVD , which my partner loved for watching sport etc
The bedrooms have A/C and a ceiling fan and the beds are very comfortable !
No need to worry about transport to and from the airport, you will have a chauffeur driven car awaiting you, with ice cold towels and refreshments on hand ( rum punch included) !
With Kevan and Cheryl's knowledge of the island, they will help ensure that anything you may like to can be arranged.
We had great fun fishing off the jetty and snorkeling in the pretty bays close by.
The reserve is in a very quiet position and so made for a very peaceful but fun holiday.
There is so much to do and see in St Lucia , if you are looking for a high standard of accommodation. Look no further.
Also , in addition for anyone on a gluten free diet, there is quite a variety of products in all supermarkets and health shops. I was in my element as this is something that I do worry about whilst away.
The Reserve does have there very own pastry chef at hand too, should you need fresh bread or cakes etc baking.
Book, you won't be disappointed ! We'll be back !!
