Guestbook comments from the owner
We have stayed at this property twice. The whole process of booking, arrival, departure etc was very easy, with both the owner and housekeeper being very helpful. The property is as described, with a lovely big living ~/ dining room in particular, and is generally well equipped. The garden and patio are simple, but well maintained and lovely on sunny days.

I bought this house during a wet week one summer in Ireland soon after I returned to England from working abroad for 4 years. I currently live with my husband in London, where I grew up. I retired 6 years ago from the Financial Services industry and have just completed a B.A. in History.
I started coming to my grandmother's house in the country area around Castletownshend when I was 8 years old and have visited almost every year since. Since buying the Phoenix my husband and I come several times a year, often bringing friends and family.
We love the unique character of Castletownshend, its history, the village community, friendly neighbours, a shop two doors away, great pubs and excellent restaurant; and a 2 minute walk to 3 beaches or quays in the village. We do a lot of walking in the area, just following paths on the O.S. maps or using walking guides from the Tourist Office.
