My family and I would like to thank you so very much for the use of your lovely home.
The decor and furniture are very comfortable and stylish; the position is excellent for sightseeing and shopping, and the pool is a lovely bonus. We shall certainly recommend your house for anyone wanting to stay in the South of France.
Hello! I'm an actor /writer and live in Cardiff when in the UK. I have appeared in scores of television plays and series and for many years a member of the BBC Drama Rep. Voice overs include the Angels Destiny and Rhapsody in Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet - Brit visitors may know this series! I have written over 30 performed plays a few of which were set in France, for Radio TV and theatre and currently on my third novel . I love France and have done since I first visited on a school exchange. It is wonderful to feel as at home in France as in my native land , Wales.
Incidentally I have been advertising with Holiday-rentals for about 11 years.
Around five years ago I began to look for a smaller property. I was living at the time in a large house in Vence, not far away, which had a separate apartment for letting. I feel families like to have a pool to themselves, I know i do, so although i could remain in the house while visitors were in the flat i would never use use 'Their' pool. I needed to downsize anyway so finding a three bed house with pool seemed perfect. With a smaller terrace at the back it also offered extra privacy. The house is close to the airport , the coast, and this year -after two years of building works - we shall have the new Polygone Riviera. We are all looking forward to strolling across the road to one of the restaurants or catching the sales in Au Printemps, or even a visit to the Cinema where frequently films are subtitled in English .
The family is going to spend New Year in the ski centre of Auron - a delightful little Alpine village in the Alpes Maritimes. We shall take the bus that runs regularly from the Airport and shall stay for a few days hopefully to ski but if not the youngsters will have other activities including a skating rink. Another plus for the location.
I lived for many years in the Gard - a lovely town Uzès but I wanted a more easily accessible location. The Riviera was the perfect choice for me ,but it was as important not to lose sight of old
France - the France of so many beloved films like Clochemerle and so many more . And these villages and small towns are still close at hand despite the sophisticated lifestyle of the multinational Riviera. If you come to my house there is a book on the coffee table Villages Perché. Browse through it and take a trip into the hinterland and you will be in a different world.
