The West area of Amsterdam is full of green areas and is well connected to the rest of the city with tram lines 7 and 17 or bus 15 and 18. Tram/bus stop only 2 minutes away. As you can rent bikes on the corner, you will be able to get to the rest of the city with just a few minutes cycling, as a real local!.
Park and Ride facilities nearby if you come by car: World Fashion Centre and Olympic Stadion (8 EUR per day).
In the immediate surrounding you will find Vondel Park, Rembrandt Park and Westerpark. Park and Bike is only 5 minutes to the South area where there is Museumplein (museum square) with the major museums such as Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk museum or the Leidseplein (line 7), where you can do shopping at the flower market (bloemenmarkt) or go out at night in one of the many clubs, pubs and bars. Here you find also the famous live music cafe Bourbon Street.
On the Far West side you can reach the famous Jordaan neighbourhood with its Saturday and Monday market also in a few minutes by bike or by bus (line 18)
The main canals are only 10 minutes by bike or by tram (line 17) and walk along the famous 9 straatjes (9 streets) famous for their boutiques and original shops. The famous canals will offer you lovely sightseeing as along the Prinsengracht with Ann Frank's House, Keizergracht and Herengracht with their majestic and luxury houses, and the Singel, the belt that encloses Dam square and the historical centre with the famous Red Light District, Rembrandt House, Amstelkring museum, Hermitage and many other attractions. You can visit for instance the flea market on the Waterlooplein or go to the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in Spui and browse around little shops or sit at a cafes as locals do.
