Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday barn in Test Valley - The Old Barns
Luxury 1 Bedroom Cottage Within A Barn Conversion With South Facing Balcony.
The Old Barns Holiday Accommodation consists of four one bedroom self catering cottages within a beautifully converted timber barn. Originally the barns were part of a courtyard of dairy barns belonging to Compton Manor, who's land still surrounds the barns offering shooting and fly fishing.
Located in the beautiful hamlet of Brook, near Kings Somborne and Stockbridge in the stunning Test Valley. The cottages are upside down, making the most of the views and offer luxurious accommodation with lots of character features. Upstairs you will find a spacious vaulted open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area opening onto a lovely South facing Balcony. Downstairs you will find a pretty bedroom with plenty of storage, a large entrance hall and a period bathroom with roll top bath. The cottages have lovely views across the paddock to the Test Valley. Outside on the balcony and terrace area you will find tables and chairs - perfect for Al fresco dining and watching the sun set. The terrace leads into a large courtyard with pond and ample parking.
The local area is renowned for its country pursuits such as fishing, shooting, cycling, horse riding and walking. You will find many good pubs, restaurants, deli's and farm shops within a short drive or pleasant walk.
It is also the perfect location for visiting local attractions such as The New Forest National Park, the historic cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, the south coast and pretty local villages such as Mottisfont, Stockbridge, Haughton and Kings Somborne.
An ideal rural retreat for a romantic weekend away, a family holiday, a fishing or shooting holiday, a cycling holiday, a walking holiday, a lovely base for sightseeing or just to enjoy the Test Valley area.

We are a family consisting of Rob, Sarah, our 2 teenage boys, our dog Indie, our chickens and our gold fish. We bought The Old Barns in November 2011 and have spent our time improving and working on the holiday cottages and the surrounding area. In January 2013 we started converting one of the barns into our house which we are now living in. We live on site and are here if you need us and happy to offer local advice.
The Old Barns is a hidden gem (as quoted by a guest) and is a lovely relaxing place to come and enjoy the area. The cottages are comfortable and have everything you should need. The area is beautiful and you will want to keep coming back, as do many of our guests.
