Lovely and comfortable

  • 3 out of 5
The contact with owners was very pleasant. We had a very nice time at Whitstable. The cottage is decorated with taste, it is very spacious for 4 persons. It's convenient to have toilet paper, salt, peper, oil, and kitchen apparel when you arrive. However, it should be cleaner. The floors hadn't been vacuum cleaned properly, the kitchen's closets were full of grease stains, and we found the place rather dusty. The situation is ideal. Everything can be reached by foot. Nice swimming pool at Whitstable. So, all in all we had a nice time and wish the owners improve the cleaning.

Owner's Response: Thank you and very sorry you found the house not as clean as expected. As you know we were away and so will feed back your comments to the cleaner. We had had workmen in the house prior to your visit and this may explain the dust.

A perfect house for a family.

  • 5 out of 5
This is a lovely cottage very close to the beach and very close to useful places like the Old Neptune pub on the beach or the little corner shop on Nelson Road. It is ideally located for children - they can walk to the beach themselves within a minute.
The property is equipped to a very high standard, has got everything one needs and we had a lovely time there.
I thoroughly recommend this cottage and would like to book it again!

An ideal family cottage

  • 5 out of 5
We enjoyed our long stay in this cottage very much. It was just idea for the children. The baby felt very comfortable in the lovely cradle and our small daughter enjoyed lots of toys to play with and interesting books in the play room. As the beach and a playground are just around the corner, we spent much time playing there and enjoying ourselves. We were also very happy to find tennis rackets in the cottage, so that we could go for a game on the courts nearby. (You can book a court in the Windy Corner Store.) The Windy Corner Store offers coffee, delicious cakes and good food. It`s just a very friendly atmosphere in there. The Old Neptune on the beach is just a perfect place to enjoy your Ale and the view on the sea (with family and also alone).
And every 15 minutes you have busses taking you to Canterbury with is amazing cathedral.
We will come back!!

Christmas in Whitstable

  • 5 out of 5
This property was exactly as advertised, tastefully decorated, clean, well maintained and all the amenities we could ask for. Vanessa even decorated a plant with Christmas ornaments to give us a holiday feel. The location was perfect with access to the sea front and a quick walk to the center of town. Being fellow Home Away owners we appreciated the attention to detail and the ease of the transaction over the internet. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and colleagues.
Thank you Vanessa,

Wonderful!

  • 5 out of 5
The house was exactly as described and more. All the little touches around the house made it stylish but homely. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming and even though we had a very late arrival and early departure it all ran like clockwork. It made our stay in Whitstable very special. There's so much to see and do in this little seaside resort that we wished we could stay longer. There's a great variety of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. I found everyone to be helpful and friendly. On the last day it was a beautiful sunny morning so we took a walk along the lively beach front and then ate lunch in the garden - not what I expected for mid-November! We would love to go back and this cottage would be our first choice.

Holiday in Whitstable

  • 4 out of 5
We had a very nice holiday in Whitstable. Samphire Cottage is lovely and very stylish. There were even tulips on the table! We very much enjoyed the silence around the house. Even the weather was good. We only had one day of rain.
Whitstable is a good place for discovering Kent: we went to Canterbury, Dover castle, Walmer castle, the towers of Reculver, Broadstairs and Faversham. On Wednesday we explored Whitstable, a nice village with much little shops, all around the corner. On our last evening we had dinner at Prezzo's and it was delicious.

We would surely recommend Samphire Cottage to family and friends!
