This welcoming holiday apartment is situated in an historic converted warehouse overlooking a typical Amsterdam canal. The development is extremely peaceful and only a short walking distance to Central station with very good access to Metro stations (Nieuwmarkt and Waterloo Plein), tram and bus services.

The apartment is on the same street as the world famous Gassan Diamond. The closest attractions include, Opera House, Rembrandt House, Hermitage Museum, Jewish/Portuguese Synagogue, Dam Square, NEMO and the Maritime museum. There is a diverse selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and galleries nearby to explore.

As you enter the historic warehouse building you will be surprised at the modern communal courtyard gardens within. The development also benefits from a modern entrance security system and an elevator to help you get to/from the 3rd floor apartment with your luggage or shopping. The apartment has a comfortable and modern interior with delightful views over the canal.

If you want all of the convenience of a great central location in Amsterdam and demand a safe, comfortable and peaceful place to stay, then this apartment is for you.

Many Amsterdam houses and flats have steep staircases to gain access. This apartment has a lift which negates the need to climb stairs.

Many visitors to the city choose to hire bicycles during their stay. One of the main cycle hire companies is only a short walk from the apartment. You can also park your bike(s) off the street in the residents parking area. This can only be reached by residents and the community is gated.

We are happy to provide specific advice for your visit to make the most of your stay. This might include recommending a local Thai restaurant or give you ideas of places to visit outside the city should you choose.

Other rental options may be available for those staying over 1 week and we would be happy to negotiate a discount on our advertised rates.

First of all, let me introduce myself - my name is Marcos Moura Vieira and I own this property which was my home in Amsterdam for a number of years. The apartment is now offered as a cosy holiday let and is ideal for visitors because of the Central location.

I have the help of 2 friends in managing the apartment and looking after our guests.

Tip-top flat in super location: book this one now!

Our favorite vacation rental ever! The apartment is in a perfect location (walking distance to just about everywhere you want to go in Amsterdam) and extremely comfortable. The ample living/dining area overlooks a charming canal, with close up views from the cozy balcony. Super service from the owner at all points of the booking and rental experience.

We loved all the attention to detail, including obvious fastidiousness with cleaning (something very important to us) and ample supplies of items too often missing from most rental units. Here, you're stocked with laundry detergent, bath soap, toilet and kitchen paper, etc, not to mention kitchen basics, like coffee, sugar, milk, etc. And then there is no end of endearing touches, like 2 dozen gorgeous roses of all hues, fine chocolates and cashews, a great bottle of wine, to name just a few.

Furnishings are comfy and functional and the decor is pleasing. The Bosch washer and dryer are awesome (thank you very much!), the kitchen while small is super efficient, hot water is HOT and plentiful, wifi rapid and reliable. We love the place and will be back for a longer stay.

Where do I start? First of all, let me thank you very much indeed for your detailed review of both the apartment and the service which you experienced.
This review is particularly IMPORTANT for us as we know that you also operate a similar Holiday Rental in Barcelona via the sister website VRBO. Therefore, we know that you fully understand the holiday let business and therefore your honest comments will have increased objectivity and credibility. Thankfully for us, your review is very positive and reflects many of the points which are previous guests have commented on. Of course, the apartment location speaks for itself and all of the little extras such as the various basic items which we provide for guests are in contrast to some of the larger rental businesses.
The overall booking experience starting from guests’ initial enquiries through to post stay contact is very personal and we try to respond to emails within hours (not days). We are also happy to provide additional advice to travellers on request to help them plan their vacation.
In the last 2 years we have already had a number of returning guests which is extremely gratifying and personal recommendations to friends and family members also accounts for some of our bookings.

What a treat!

We were delighted with our accommodation. The listing was accurate, the property clean and well maintained, both the owner and manager provided service over and above what we expected. Perfect stay in Amsterdam

We were met at the accommodation by the manager who was very welcoming and helpful. There were 20 red roses, chocolates, other nibbles and several bottles of wine waiting for us in the apartment on our arrival. The apartment had everything we needed. It was clean, very well appointed and quiet. It was central to the everything we wanted to go to and within easy walking distance of the central railway station. We would strongly recommend this to anyone planning to stay in Amsterdam for short or long stays.

We aim to ensure our guests settle into the apartment as quick as possible and ‘feel a home’. The flowers, nibbles, tea + coffee and wine allow you to put your feet up and have a drink without having to pop out to the local supermarket. As a frequent traveller myself, I know how much I appreciate these small touches. (The extra wine was possibly gifted by a previous guest).The key feature to your ‘welcome’ is Peter himself. Peter enjoys meeting all of our guests and will always ensure a warm welcome. Furthermore, he is always a phone call/email away if you require further information or assistance (as am I).

You kindly commented on the central location of the apartment. Indeed, the apartment is a short walk from Central Station and most of the major tourist attractions can be reached by foot.

Quiet, convenient and well-equipped

At first I was a little surprised by the size of the apartment--the ceiling a little lower than expected, photos made it look larger, but it was perfectly comfortable, good light from the windows. It's very well-equipped, everything works well, clean! The bed is good, often a problem with vacation rentals. Not here. Lovely petite balcony to sit out on and enjoy the boats going by on the canal. We knew the location was good, and rightly figured that a place on a canal with no street in front would be quiet. Marcos was very on top of communication and instructions, and even though his assistant Peter wasn't available to meet us, his colleague was there for us. Greeted with goodies, coffee makings and even milk, much appreciated by the jet-lagged traveler. And I like the artwork!

Supermarket close, good coffee and tea store just down the street, Simon Levert. Mac Bike rental and health food store on Waterlooplein, as well as a Coffee Company outlet, better than Starbucks. Puccini also nearby, nice. Watch out for their bonbon shop, wow. Rent a bike and ride out the Amstel to Oudekerk on Amstel, have lunch at the bakery.

We went to both Amsterdam and Paris, and while Paris is grand, we liked our experience in Amsterdam much more. This apartment was part of that good experience.

Thank you so much for your very detailed and honest review.
It’s so good to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you appreciated the amenities of the apartment. The apartment location is ideal for those you want to stay in Central Amsterdam but without the street noise.

The small balcony off the lounge is ideal for relaxing with a drink while watching the boats – no cars and no pedestrians. This was one of my own favourite pastimes. The picture on the website is a little old and we now have a small table and 2 chairs which have replaced the bench!

I know that Peter wasn’t able to greet you on arrival although I hope that you were made to feel at home. Many rental properties have very strict rules about arrival and departure times. I am proud to say that we try our absolute hardest to be flexible to our guests unique travel arrangements and will make every effort to ensure that you don’t have to resort to leaving your bags in ‘Left Luggage’ at the Station or wait on the streets for hours at the time.

The apartment is only one bedroom and, like most other Warehouse conversions in the Centre, has limited space. It is for this reason that we now prefer to rent to a maximum of 2 guests. Some City Centre apartments advertise as 1 bedroom when they do not have a separate bedroom. The website photos are not intended to give the impression of a vast open space. The ceiling height is low in the main hallway although opens up somewhat in the lounge and bedroom with the original exposed beams. However, it is definitely not a high ceiling. I really hope that you found the space sufficient for your stay!!

I am pleased that you appreciated the artwork. The paintings in the lounge are, obviously, Brazilian and provide a welcome burst of colour.

Thank you also for mentioning how close the apartment is to the shops, cafes and supermarkets of Waterlooplein. ‘Puccini’ is very special indeed and is a must visit shop for those who like specialty chocolates.

I also hope future guests take note of your cycling suggestions. There are some delightful destinations both in and out of the City which can be reached by bike. The good news is that the apartment is situated inside a gated complex and there is a secure off street bike storage area for your convenience.

Perfect. Top notch in every way.

The apartment is very well equipped. It overlooks a canal so is very quiet and only a short walk to the metro or the tram. Peter, who looks after the place is incredibly obliging and friendly and provides welcoming champagne, beer, cheese nuts, juice, and nuts. The wifi is fast and satellite TV has about a million channels. We will definitely stay there again when we next visit Amsterdam.
