Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Friday Harbor - Haro Haiku
House, 2 Bedrooms + Office, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5 max)
HARO HAIKU is located on the West side of beautiful San Juan Island.
The house is nestled just below the ridge line - with 180 degree views of the Olympic mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca beyond, and Haro Straits immediately below. Approaching the house, you pass by our Japanese-inspired garden with a 62 year old Bonsai black pine center piece.
BE SURE TO VIEW THE PHOTOS OF THE NEW, COMPLETELY REMODELED KITCHEN !!
Inside Haro Haiku you'll find a contemporary blend of eastern and western style and decor with a decidedly Asian attitude. The interior lets the outside in through an ingenious use of sky lights and widow placements in the exterior and interior walls.
The views are spectacular!!
From South Vancouver island, across the straits to the Olympic Mountains, Pt Townsend, Mt Rainier, and Whidbey Island it never fails to inspire and delight. Sunrises, sunsets, ship and boat traffic, the lights of Victoria, and the Olympic Peninsula, clear starry nights, cloud formations, combined with the sound of Orca whales and surf below. Truly awesome!!!

Stephanie purchased this house in 2005
Why Stephanie chose Friday Harbor
The location of Haro Haiku is the main reason we chose to purchase it; Located on the WEST SIDE of San Juan Island with its spectacular vistas of Haro Straits, the Olympic Mountains, easy access to Lime Kiln State Park (Whale Watch Park), Serenity of the neighborhood (None to close, but not to far), and convenient to Friday Harbor.
Guestbook comments from the owner
I haven't had a chance to write you until now, but i just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your lovely home. It was beyond all our expectations and we couldn't stop talking about how wonderful it was. (both the house and the location) our stay was glorious and much (or most) of that can be attributed to the haro haiku house. Thank you for your contribution to a wonderful weekend!
p.s. i saw orcas from your deck!!
p.p.s. tom (my husband) requests that you contact us should you ever want to sell your home!"
