Nestled Away In A 15th Century Village Experience The Real Croatia Experience

Luxury Stone House in a beautiful village that dates from the 15th century only 30 metres from the sea and just 2 minutes walk from the closest beach.

On the ground floor you have a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, espresso machine, oven, toaster + kettle. There is also a bathroom with a 2 person bath, large sink and toilet.

On the 2nd floor there is a 2nd bathroom with a jacuzzi shower with radio and multiple jets, large sink and toilet. This floor also has a bedroom with a Super King Bed for your comfort and a 32 Inch flat screen TV for Satellite and DVD Viewing.

On the 3rd floor there is a large open plan lounge with 42 inch flat screen TV, Satellite system multi- country, DVD player, hifi , Playstation 2 along with a large sofa bed as well as a 2nd single sofa bed. The room is dual purpose. It can be used purely as a living room or can sleep up to 3 persons.

On the 4th floor is a Large Roof Terrace with a charcoal brick barbecue, table and chairs and a panoramic mountain view

CroatianStoneHouse.COM is located just two minutes walk from the local beach. The villa has been completely renovated to a high standard for our guests. All windows are double glazed with shutters and there is air conditioning on all 3 floors.

There are also several beaches within walking distance from the property including one beach with natural shade from large pine trees. The villa is located in the beautiful village of Kastel Luksic, a very historic and peaceful village centred around a beautiful 15th century castle vitturi.

One Advantage of the Area is That It Is Open All Year Round. The Area is not Seasonal Like The Croatian Islands. Shops, Restauraunts, Cafes, Supermarkets and Bars are open all year round so you can enjoy any time of the year.

The villa is part of the original village Ostrog. A settlement of houses that were formed behind Castle Virruri in the 15th Century. In ancient times the local fishermen used to store their small boats on the ground floor of these stone houses. Even to this day you will see the original large arches by the front door that used to allow boats to be pushed inside.

The village is in an ideal location being only 15 mins from Split town by car or bus and 15 minutes to Trogir in the opposite direction. This is an ideal location to explore Croatia. The property is also within an hour of Krka National Park by car. The village has all required amenities if you do not want to hire a car. There are several supermarkets, a butchers, local market, fast food, restaurants, several bars and coffee shops, a post office, doctors and ATM machine.

The benefit of Kastela compared to the large cities are that you can enjoy pleasant walks following the coastal road for several kilometres in both directions with beautiful scenery. You can visit each of the 7 villages that make up Kastela. The coastal road also being relatively quiet is also perfect for cycle rides and running.

For those who are interested in hiring a motor boat or yacht (with or without a skipper) the property is only 5-10 mins drive from the large Kastela Marina who can provide this service.

I live in the UK not far from London in the suburbs. I enjoy travel, fresh coffee and family life. I also like to introduce more people to the beautiful Croatia by staying at a holiday home we spent several years renovating. We have renovated to a high standard so our guests feel at home.

Why Tayana Charles chose Split

We chose this house because it was one of the original stone houses from a village that has existed since the 15th Century. We also chose the house because of the large roof terrace which is quite rare for stone houses. The house has character with thick walls to stop the heat in summer and to keep you warmer in winter. The property is also ideally located 10 mins from Split Airport and 30 metres from the beach.

What makes this house unique

Our large roof terrace is very popular with guests. There is a table and chairs that allows dining on the terrace with mountain views. There is also a large brick BBQ that allows you to enjoy grilled meat or fish. The house is also very close to the beach/sea so you can be on the beach in seconds.

Other nice features are the large 42 inch flat screen TV in the living area and a Super King Size bed in Bedroom 1 for the comfort of our guest. We feel the house is more comfortable that most in Croatia as we have renovated to a high western standard. The house will feel like a home from home.

Communication with the owner before going was always very efficient with some great information provided about the local area. Only a short drive away from the airport and we were greeted warmly to be given the keys and shown around the property as well as the town. Plenty of shops in the town provided us with food to be cooked in the well equipped kitchen and on the rooftop BBQ. All of the locals were very friendly. Easy to catch the bus into Split which takes about half an hour, from where we took trips to Hvar and Brac. I would definitely recommend a trip to Brac! As well as UNESCO site, Trogir, which is only a 15minute bus journey away. The villa had all amenities and comforts required come rain or shine. Fully recommended.

Property clean, well designed, fantastic location literally 1min walk from the sea front. Neighbours friendly and very safe area. Everything you need is in the apartment - all kitchen appliances. Beautiful shower and massive comfortable bed. Loads of DVD's to entertain when staying in. Very comfortable living room. Thank you ever so much, the towns around were lovely to visit. We hired bikes and really enjoyed the time spent here. Highly recommended.

The property was very nice and clean. Especially the kitchen had all the needed items to make breakfast, dinner etc. The terrance and the sun loungers were excellent! It was nice to start the day by drinking coffee at the terrace and enjoying the sun. The listing description was accurate, although the rooms looked a little bit bigger in the pictures. The owner provided us with excellent customer service! :) He was very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this property to my friends and family.

I recommend the other guests to visit the old town of Split and of course the beautiful Trogir. The Krka National Park was also a beautiful place to visit. The waterfalls were amazing. We used the Taxi GoGo-company. We ate in Hotel Villa Zarko about 6 times. Nice staff and good food. Great value for you money! The nearby fast food place was also good, if you didn't feel like cooking. The local turist biro wasn't very good. The workers weren't very helpful or nice. For example, one day we went there, because we wanted to get a taxi, but we didn't know the number. We went to the turist biro, and asked the lady worker to call us a taxi or give us the number so we could make the call. Her answer was: "It isn't my job to get you a taxi.." Luckily the local people are quite friendly, although they don't speak english very well.

Our overall experience about Croatia is very positive and we will return someday! :)

The Krka Park waterfalls as you say are highly recommended for a day trip. Swimming under the waterfalls is a magical experience. Trogir and Split are also easy day trips from the house. Sorry to hear about your experience with the Turist Biro. This is the equivalent of a tourist agent in the U.K. We would recommend for tourist advice to visit Kastela Tourist Office located inside the 15th Century castle who should be more helpful when asking for advice. They also have many leaflets and tourist information on the area in the English language along with other languages.

Description of villa was true and we were not disappointed. Well equipped, clean and very well located. We would definitely recommend.

Kastella is a perfect location. Quiet and unspoilt with lovely safe beaches, pleasant shops and bars and conveniently located between Trogir and Split which can be easily reached by bus.

We like the fact that Kastela is unspoilt with many years of history and not swarming with tourists like Split and Trogir. Its a place to relax, enjoy a strong Croatian coffee and look at the amazing views across the ocean to Split and the island of Ciovo. The town also has everything you need if you don't have your own transport. There are 3 supermarkets, a bakery, coffee shops, bars and more. The transport service as you mentioned is also good with regular buses that will take you to Split or Trogir. The trip back to the airport is also stress free with a Taxi ride only taking around 10 Minutes.

A very enjoyable holiday

The house was very well furnished and maintained. The air conditioning was very efficient and most welcome in the higher than usual temperatures. The view from the roof terrace over the terracotta roofscape of the old town was very picturesque, though we found it a bit hot to sit up there at lunchtime. We did not hire a car but were able to get around easily on the public transport system and it is a very short taxi ride from the airport. We would certainly recommend it.

Rent a luxury villa in the centre of the beautiful historic village of Kastel Luksic located in between Trogir and Split. The property is a traditional stone house that has existed since the village was formed in the 15th Century. Kastel Luksic is very well situated for visiting Split, Trogir, Sibenik, Omis, Zadar and Krka Park. You can also visit some of the Croatian islands such as Brac for a day trip. The house is only 30 metres from the sea with the closest beach only being a 1 minute walk from the house. The shops and restauraunts in the local area are open all year round unlike some tourist regions like Ciovo where businesses close down outside summer. We are very convenient for Split Airport ( Only 10 minutes by Car ).

There are quiet family beaches with natural shade close by. The location is peaceful with all the shops you require for your essentials accessible by foot. The beaches of the Kastela region combine into a 6km long string of bays and bathing areas which are shaded by pine trees. The beaches have showers, a changing facility and even a slide and swings for children close to the sea.

The local area is OPEN all year round unlike the Croatian Islands where everything closes down after summer. Shops, Supermarkets, Cafes, Bars and Restaurants are open all year round so you can enjoy this location any time of the year. The local area has many businesses within walking distance such as butchers, bakers, shoe repair, convenience stores, fishing shop, coffee shops, bars so a car is not required if you don't mind staying locally. There is also a good bus service that runs to Split and Trogir nearby.

As well as being close to the beach the house is also close to historic buildings including a Castle and Church. The house is also surrounded by cafes with 3 or 4 coffee bars serving alcohol some of which provide FREE WIFI INTERNET access, useful for any vacation. You also have 2 small supermarkets nearby within 5 minutes walk to stock up on food and drink along with other smaller convenience stores. For fresh pizza or Cevapcici there is a takeaway food store within 2 minutes of the house. There are also restaurants in walking distance. If you are looking to shop there is a large shopping centre that can be visited by car in 10 minutes. There are also other shopping centres located in Split town which is 20 minutes drive by car.

Notes:
The property has a central large stone staircase so younger children should be supervised if staying at the villa. The roof terrace has a large stone surround so is safe for children but again children should be supervised when they are on the roof terrace. We have various beach gear available to borrow such as buckets and spades and a 2 seat blow up inflatable boat and beach games. The property has a large brick barbecue (charcoal) suitable for cooking fish and meat for all guests and you may enjoy your meal on the roof terrace. Table and chairs are provided along with some sun loungers with view of mountains. We have a selection of DVD movies available for you to watch at the property if you want to relax in the evenings. Bedroom 1 has a TV with DVD Player to View DVD Movies (no Satellite or channels)In Your Room if you wish. The Lounge also has a DVD player and also has Satellite TV available. This room can also be used as Bedroom 2 as it has 2 sofa beds.
