I work in the travel industry so I have a good insight in what makes a great holiday experience. I love to holiday myself at Priory Stables with my young family as it suits us perfectly with the short walk to the beach and pubs and shops in the village.

Joby Mussell purchased this house in 2003

I bought this property nearly 10 years ago due to its great location in the centre of the picturesque village of Croyde and close proximity to the beach. It was ideal for my love of surfing and now ideal for my youny family to share.

What makes Priory Stables so ideal is you can literally park your car up in the driveway and not need to get in it again during your stay. You can conveniently walk to the beach and all the hustle and bustle of the village. The decked balcony is a real gem, with it being south facing you can enjoy the sun all day and I have spent many days sunbathing or enjoying a sunset glass of wine.

Had an excellent birthday surf weekend in the house which is ideally located in the centre of Croyde, close to the shop, a short walk to the beach and more importantly right next to the pub!

The house is really nice with a huge living and dining room area and an an excellent kitchen. Plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery to go round! Beds are extremely comfortable (although cant vouch for the camp beds) and the showers are decent and hot!

The garden and balcony area is amazing and even though it was March we were out there! Would be fantastic in summer!

The house was really clean on arrival and there was no hassle at all with the arrangements.

Thanks a lot Joby, hope to stay there again soon!

my family enjoyed priory stables over the new year holiday the property was very clean and comfortable for all of us.it was warm and welcoming, bedding was very clean, kitchen very well equipped.wine and chocks were there as a gift when we arrived which was very thoughtfull.the owner was very helpful when booking our stay and prompt replies to my enquiery.we ate 3 times at the thatch fantasic food great value huge selection and very child friendly.
we all hope to return in the summer.

We had a lovely week in Croyde and the property was very well situated and had everything we needed. The customer service was excellent from both the owner and the cleaner from the time of booking until we left. The description of the property was very accurate and the situation of the property could not be better for the beach, pubs and restaurants. I would certainly recommond this property for a large family or two families holidaying together.

Good locations but needs new bathrooms.

Despite a fantastic location the property was not what we expected. The bathrooms were appalling; the ensuite shower mixer tap did not work resulting in cold or scolding showers and the other shower leaked. The living space was good and the balcony was lovely. Shame there was no welcome pack like other holiday rentals such as some milk and bread - just basics to get us started.
Overall we are sorry to say we won't be returning as it didnt live up to the price.
Owner's Response: I am sorry the property didn't live up to your expectations which is surprising after a very busy period this is the only bad review I have received. If there were problems with the water supply or taps it would have been better to notify us during your stay so that we could call out a plumber to immediately rectify the problem. We do provide a welcome pack to all guests consisting of information on the property and surrounding area plus a bottle of wine and chocolates. This again is the first time I have had a guest complain about the welcome pack and have always taken the opinion these are items that most guests would welcome. I have had many nice appreciative comments in the past that we take the time and care to provide such a service. However, we welcome constructive feedback so moving forward can look to include bread and milk as well. I would advise anyone reading this review to check Tripadvisor where there a number of more balanced reviews from guests which have been extremely complimentary about their stay at Priory Stables.
