Lovely Villa

We stayed at villa carmen for 11 nights. The villa is just as the photos show. It is in a complex of other similar villas, very private, no one looks onto the outside area or the pool. The villa was clean and we had a towel change and the pool cleaned half way through our stay. The English person (Andrew) who looks after the villa, was happy to provided things we needed (e.g. No kettle, but he kindly provided a new one straight away when we mentioned it). The only thing that the villa was missing was air conditioning or even some fans as it was very warm at night making it very difficult to sleep. Only 2 sunbeds, the villa could do with a couple more, especially as it is advertised for 5-6 people (I think Andrew was going to mention this to the Spanish owner)
There is a supermarket approx 15 walk away that's sells everything you will need during your stay.
The centre of Playa Blanca is approx 40-45 mins walk away along a lovely promenade. If you like being away from the hustle and bustle and dont mind a walk at night, this villa is for you. A taxi back from the centre cosy approx 4-5 euros, so we walked to playa blanca at night, past the lovely marina with its up market bars and lovely restaurants and then got a taxi back.
Papagayo beach is approx 25-30 min walk over a rough dirt track but the beach there is lovely (some nudist areas on the beach) but no other facilities there, so take your own food and drink.
On the prom near Playa blanca is an Irish bar called Mollies, fantastic food at great prices. A great variety of restaurants in playa blanca including a Chinese and Indian restaurant.
A lovely market on wednesdays and Saturdays in the marina, selling lots of different things, get your pressies from here.
Hire some bikes and cycle along the prom, gorgeous beach called Flamingo beach at the Montana Roja end of the resort, water sports, bars and supermarket next to the beach.
I would deffinately go back to Playa blanca, lovely resort, friendly people and lots of choices for eating out. Average price for a meal for 4 at night is between 50-80 euros (no starters, or desserts, but including 2-3 rounds of drinks)
Overall a lovely holiday in a lovely resort.
