We’ve got a bit of a crush on this two bedroom designer home in Marylebone

Puppy love

Affluent but grounded, Marylebone is the boy-next-door-who-went-on-to-become-a-doctor. You can enjoy the charm and buzz of Edgware Road before retreating to enjoy lazy afternoons in Regent’s Park. All the ingredients are here, just waiting for you to experiment with them. And hidden just behind all this is Shouldham Street, your very own little love nest.

Dearly beloved

Married at the local registry office in 1997, this area holds a very special place in your hosts’ hearts. Most special is their home – where they held their wedding party. Their house has been effortlessly made into a home over 14 years of work, life and love.

Let’s get intimate

While you should make yourself at home here, you’ll occasionally be reminded you’re staying in a designer’s dream.

Walk through the front door and peep round the corner to find yourself in the Drawing Room. The natural light, beautiful dark wooden floor and wonderful collection of books invite you to find a comfortable spot and read a romantic novel. Then put on an old record, snuggle up under a blanket and pour a glass of merlot. It’s the things romances are made of.

Now for a candlelit dinner. Down the stairs to the lower ground floor and you’ll find the kitchen. It’s modern, minimalist and kitted out with all the latest gear. Nestled among this simplicity are splashes of colour and knickknacks that remind you you’re in someone’s home. You’ve got plenty of room to host as well as the option to retreat to enjoy a romantic meal. Leave the washing up for later and enjoy a nightcap in the smart conservatory, complete with a flat-screen TV. For the warmer nights, you can take your tea to the outside area where modern art meets nature.

It’s time for bed, so head up to the first floor where you’ve got the beautiful sitting room with a fire and your first bedroom. The Master Bedroom sits on the second floor and its en-suite in the perfect spot for a hot bubble bath after a long day.

An antiques market beckons those with an arty eye and the theatres and galleries of the West End are all within an easy walking distance. We love this area, and this Shouldham Street home is just the icing on the cake.

Home Truths: The bed in the second bedroom is a little shorter than standard size, so might not be suitable for taller guests.
