Merate is a town very close to Parco del Curone and, on its hilltop, is Montevecchia from where you can have a breathtaking view.
The town is also economically important due to many companies around but it is still a countryside town with its “Lago di Sartirana”, a natural reserve, or its public or private parks around ancient villas.
The tower, in the main pedestrian square, Piazza Prinetti, is its symbol.
Within reach there is the Adda river and along its shore you can walk or cycling looking at the beautiful landscape or admiring the river ferry boat whose original project is supposed to be a Leonardo Da Vinci’s.
