Charming Scandinavian Lodge

This particular lodge is one of the most sought after property's on the park.

The lodge has one of the very few private garden's found on the complex, a rear garden with patio, garden furniture, BBQ, in addition to the front veranda.

The lodge has 3 bedrooms, toilet upstairs, in addition to the downstair's toilet/shower room.

The kitchen has many features including fitted fan/oven/grill, hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and many fitted cupboards.

The living/dining room has table and chairs, sofa, tub chair, with stall, flat screen TV with Freeview

A relaxing week

The chalet is at an edge of the Kingsdown Park, behind the little house is a small garden. Only the directly neighbours can look inside this garden. Most of the other houses are freestanding, there is no private atmosphere. So we found that really positiv.

You can see a lot of wood in the house (ceiling, kitchen, dining area). The rest looks as chosen from the swedish house with the four letters (IK..). It looks all really cosy.

When you wake up in the mornings you can have a look at the sea out of the window on the top floor. What would you wish you more?

Including a washing-machine, dishwasher, etc. you are able to be a self-caterer. There is an oven and yet a grill. Also a microwave is in the chalet. We brought a coffee-machine with us, the English prefer their tea ;-))).

Kingsdown is small, but really nice. I´m a big UK-Fan and this place is as I love it: Pretty little cottages, pebble beach, a view on the white cliffs. You can arrive at the sea on your feet in a few minutes.

In the near of Kingsdown is Deal, here you can find bigger shops like co-op, Sainsbury, Superdrug, Secondhandshops (Foundations), small shops, an amusement arcarde, beautiful pubs (have a look at the "Kings-Head"). There is a Tesco , which is 20 minutes away from Kingsdown, so you are able to shop around the clock (We don´t have this in Germany...).

By train you can travel to London. The port from Dover is 15 minutes away, Deal 7 Minutes.

One other really famous point is the owner. His pleasant way to treat us and the fast answers to our questions made us feel really good before the travel, while we where at his place, and also afterwards.

We are looking forward for the next time, Les.

Das Chalet befindet sich am Rand der Anlage, hinter dem Haus ist ein kleiner Garten mit Sichtschutz ("Waldfeeling"). Die meisten der anderen Häuser sind freistehend, so dass keine Intimsphäre vorhanden ist. Wir fanden dies sehr positiv.

Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist in warmen Holztönen und im Stil des bekannten schwedischen Möbelhauses mit den vier Buchstaben.

Aus dem oberen Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett hat man schon morgens einen Blick aufs Meer. Was wünscht man sich mehr?

Mit Waschmaschine, Geschirrspülmaschine etc. kann man sich gut im Urlaub selber versorgen. Es gibt einen Ofen und sogar einen extra Grill. Auch eine Mikrowelle ist vorhanden. Eine Kaffeemaschine haben wir mitgenommen, Engländer sind halt Teetrinker ;-)).

Die Ortschaft Kingsdown selber ist klein, aber sehr fein. So wie ich es als England-Fan so sehr liebe: Schöne kleine Cottages, Kieselstrand, Blick auf die weißen Klippen. Das Meer ist in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen.

In der Nähe liegt der Ort Deal, hier hat man einige größere Läden wie Co-op, Sainsbury, bekannte Drogerieketten, die in England überall vorhandenen Second-Hand-Läden für karitative Vereine, kleine Läden, Amusement, wunderschöne Pubs ("Kings Head" als Tipp). Ein Tesco mit einer 24-Stunden-Öffnung bietet Einkaufmöglichkeiten wann immer man Lust darauf hat. Dieser befindet sich ca. 20 Minuten vom Ferienort weg.

Eine Zugverbindung nach London ist vorhanden. Und: Kingsdown ist vom Port of Dover in höchstens 15 Minuten erreichbar, Deal in ca. 7 zusätzlichen Minuten.

Absolut hervorzuheben ist die freundliche Art des Vermieters Les. Bei Fragen reagiert er sofort, ist sehr zuvorkommend.

Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt bei Ihnen, Les.

avis mitigé; descriptif inexact

le logement est bien situé et joliment décoré mais contrairement à ce que dit le descriptif, pas de lave vaisselle et de lave linge ni même d'eau chaude pour faire la vaisselle. Le ménage est compris mais il avait été mal fait : table graisseuse, ustensiles sales et pièces poussiéreuses Electricité à payer sur place à l'aide de pièces de 1 pound à renouveler très souvent. Pas de linge de lit au rez de chaussée, pas de torchons, pas de wifi, 3 casseroles minuscules pour 6 et complètement abîmées, 2 petites poeles graisseuses et usagées, grille pain hors service, bouilloire carpicieuse, peu de vaisselle. Frigo très petit et pas de congélateur. Four impossible à allumer. Logement réservé aux amateurs de livraisons de pizzas...

Owner's Response: The negative comments made by Sylvie Torti are unfounded and 95% untrue!
There are sufficient bed linen items in ALL 3 bedrooms.
Adequate pots and pans to meet the needs for a family of six, and cleaned before guests arrive.
It is stated quite clearly on my website electricity is supplied via a coin meter.
There is, hot running water throughout the lodge, she simply needed to turn on the immersion heater!

Kettle is working, toaster was not, Sylvie should have reported this to Gina as instructed on my website straight away so we could have rectify the problem immediately, not complain about it when she returned home.
Mrs Sylvie Torti conveniently forgot to mention in her review, the bloodstained soiled bedding she dumped in the bath, this had to be replaced.
I hope fellow lodge owners on the Kingsdown Holiday Park take heed and do not have the misfortune of providing accommodation to this particular family.
