3rd and 4th floors with views!

2 large double bedrooms and 1 smaller bedroom with 1 full size single bed and one small single bed (in addition there are 2 folding beds).

HOME FROM HOME IN LONDON

Location: BAYSWATER, LONDON W2.

Nearest tube/metro station: ROYAL OAK (c.3mins walk from the flat) Circle and Hammersmith and City lines.

Warm and welcoming, spacious 3 bedroom, top floor, split level flat which sleeps 5-9 including children. Period (1860s) terrace conversion in quiet street overlooking communal garden.

Sadly NO LIFT, so unsuitable for people who can't climb 50 stairs.

Depending where you are trying to get to on the tube there are 3 tube stations close to the flat (it is not clear from a tube map but Royal Oak, Bayswater and Queensway are all pretty close to each other.)

• ROYAL OAK TUBE STATION (200 meters) is the closest to the flat and gives quick access to Paddington, Baker Street/Regents Park, Euston/King's Cross.

• BAYSWATER TUBE STATION (500 meters) is the next closest which gives quick access to Kensington, Westminster & the river Thames.

• QUEENSWAY TUBE STATION is the furthest away (700 meters) gives quick access to Marble Arch, Oxford Street/Regent Street, Tottenham Court Road/Leicester Square & St Paul's Cathedral.

As well as the tube/subway there are busses from near the flat to places including: Marble Arch, Paddington, Victoria, Regents Park, Hyde Park Corner, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Euston, Camden Town, St Paul's Cathedral.

This property is owned and managed by a family. We are not part of a company. Malcolm purchased the apartment in 1986, it was his home before his marriage. We sometimes use the flat ourselves. It is our home away from home.

What makes this apartment unique

PERIOD PROPERTY IN QUIET STREET with communal garden and lovely views (especially at sunset).

TRAVEL: 3 minutes walk from the tube [metro] station (Royal Oak - on Circle and Hammersmith and City lines). Bayswater and Queensway tube stations & Paddington main line are all within easy walking distance.

LOCAL SHOPPING & EATING: Waitrose (2-3 minutes) and Tesco (5-6 minutes) supermarkets and an array of small shops, coffee bars, restaurants etc are all very close. Whiteleys Shopping Centre (6-7 minutes) with high street brands is round the corner in Queensway. Portobello Road (Market on Saturday mornings) is 10-15 minutes walk.

TOURISM & SHOPPING: Close to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Notting Hill, Little Venice, Regents Park, Lords Cricket Ground, Marble Arch & Oxford Street.

SWIMMING & OFFICE SERVICES: Porchester complex with pool & library (Internet & printing etc) is 2-3 minutes walk. Extra towels for swimming provided.

Great place to stay

My family and I had a great time in this apartment this summer. The location is near two tube stops and was incredibly convenient. We spent the entire week getting around London using public transport and it was great having the flat so close to the stations. It is also an easy walk to Kensington Gardens which is a great place to wander.

The neighborhood was fantastic. It has a great grocery store near by and dozens of good restaurants from different nationalities - Indian, Persian, plus a steak house and several classic pubs and a couple of great pastry places. The whole neighborhood was clean and safe and any family would feel comfortable there.

The people that took care of the apartment were great and responsive and all the transactions went perfectly.

The only item to be aware of is it is the the top apartment and the stairs get do get steep.

Super week end to London

The apartment has a great location, nearby a park and close by the Royal Oak metro station. A warm welcome from the gentleman who takes care of the flat who arrived with fresh milk, bread and butter. Thank you Jan and Malcom for renting a calm flat. It is a convenient place for a large family with kids. Also, i wanted to be grateful for Jan's patience and understanding of my limited english language.

This flat is really great. It is calm, comfortable

This flat is really great. It is calm, comfortable and perfectly clean and there is everything in it.
It is situated near the tube station Royal Oak direct to the Hyde Park or at the other end to the Tower of London. There are also buses in the main road going directly to Oxford Street or Picadilly Circus (line 23) or to Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park Corner (line 36). We preferred taking the buses since you can visit London. It is perfect with children because it is 10 minutes walk to Diana's playground, free park situated in the North West of Hyde Park (you can also feed the squirrels there). In Queen's Road 5 minute's walk from the flat you have all the restaurants, fasts food, supermarket (Sainsbury's, Tesco's which are less expensive than Waitrose), Boots (for medicine and baby's food). If you take Bus 7 you go to Notting Hill with all the antique shops and to the very expensive district of Holland Park. This park is also 5 minutes by bus and you can walk in there as there are woods and wonderful places like a Japanese garden with peacocks and an adventure playground with the children.
You can also go by foot to Little Venice situated on the other side of the road north Royal Oak. It is a wonderful place and you go along and you can go up to Regent's Park from there.
Jan and Malcolm are very welcoming and they can aswer all your questions, always ready to help.
There is a TV with DVDs with a lot of international channels, the French TV5.
I really recommend this flat to anybody wanting to visit London and be independent. If you look at the price of the flat it is less expensive than a hotel as you can cook and sleep well, not disturbed by any time tables or neighbours and much cleaner thant a bec and breakfast in the center of London."

We had a lovely stay at the flat. We really appreciated all the little extras like shampoos, shower gel, bread & milk. The area was nice & quiet but it's short walk to the nearest tube station, Royal Oak. Be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs which gets narrower at the top!

Would have no hesitation in recomending this apartment. Very comfortable and everything you would need for staying way from home. owners are very helpful and do that extra bit to make you welcome.
Great local transport links and services.
Westbourne Grove is a very nice area , very quite and a pleasent place to stay.
