Located in a rural hamlet the house overlooks rolling Charentaise countryside. This tranquil area of France is a perfect base for touring by car, cycling, or even walking.
The local town hosts a twice weekly open air market, as well as a covered market with fresh fish and local produce in abundance. It also has resturants and local shops, which are supplemented by two well stocked supermarkets.
If you wish to travel a little further then the beautiful town of Cognac is a short drive away, there you can go on one of the many tours to see and taste how the world famous brandy is made.
Also close by is the town of Saintes whose roman history has left a host of remains to explore.
The magnificant Charente river winds its way through both of these towns. Slightly further afield is the atlantic coast, providing a range of wild and tranquil beaches, with the waterfront towns of La Rochelle, Rochefort, and Royan providing a host of experiences for every taste.
If you wish to take a day away then Futuroscope Park or Bordeaux are both worth a visit using the easily accessable A10 motorway.
Or if you prefer stay by the secure private pool with a glass (or two) of the local Pineau, watch the abundance of wildlife and the sun gently setting.
