This is a lively and comfortable apartment located on the 3rd floor of a four storey high building; in a quiet residential area just 5minutes drive from the nearest beach and from Viana’s town centre with an unparalleled view. You will find this property ideal for 2-4 people to enjoy both an active and/or relaxing holiday.

Centrally located between the long stretch of beaches, town centre and the Santa Luzia’s mount slope, our apartment is a unique spot to enjoy the open Atlantic ocean views from just about every room.

Viana do Castelo District:

The apartment is located within easy reach from main road accesses: N13 seaside road heading to Caminha (seaside 20mins drive), A27 to Ponte de Lima (20mins drive), A3 Braga (45mins drive) and Guimarães (50mins drive; 2012 European Capital of Culture), A28/N13 to A Guarda in Spain (50mins) and A28 to Porto (40mins drive).

Viana do Castelo district offers a combination of mountains, seaside and river which suits different styles and activities whether you want to do climbing, hiking, surf, body board, windsurf, kite-surf, horse riding, canoeing, golf, or simply enjoy a picnic or read a book in an inspiring surrounding.

During spring and summer you’ll find it very lively with plenty of local village festivities, weekly local and farmers’ markets, open-air entertainment in historic centres, and the famous music festivals (Paredes de Coura, Vilar de Mouros).

High quality apartment with superb views

We, a family of four, have stayed at this apartment for two weeks. We found it to be very well stocked and very comfortable. We have spent quite a few hours just relaxing in the living room, just reading, surfing the internet and enjoying the view across town and across the sea. Since we didn't have a car we had do some walking to get to the town centre but we also quite regularly used taxis, which are quite affordable (overall much cheaper anyway than renting a car). For us the best in Viana were the really superb beaches. Our two daughters endlessly enjoyed the water play among the incoming waves. Other things we did were visiting the elegant town of Ponte de Lima and the Thursday market at Barcelos. One of the best things of our stay in Viana was how friendly and helpful the people are in the shops etc., even if you don't speak the language. And one of the best things about the apartment is the superb service provided by the owner, Ana. She and her sister made everything run very smoothly, from our first enquiry, to our late-night arrival, to our afternoon departure with the taxi they had arranged. They took care perfectly and provided all the relevant information before we could even ask. Definitely recommended.

Wir haben zwei wunderschöne Wochen in Ihrer Wohnung in Viana do Castelo verbracht. Schon beim Betreten Ihrer Wohnung merkt man mit wie viel Liebe und Geschmack Sie Ihre Wohnung eingerichtet haben. Die Ausstattung ist wie auf den Photos im Internet zu sehen sehr hochwertig, gepflegt und sehr, sehr sauber. Vom Wohn- und Schlafzimmer aus hat man einen herrlichen Ausblick auf den Atlantik und den Ort. In der Wohnung ist wirklich alles vorhanden, um einen entspannten Urlaub zu haben. Falls man mit dem Auto anreist, gibt es genug Parkmöglichkeiten direkt vor dem Haus.

Viana do Castelo is the capital town of Viana do Castelo District. It is a large town in the charming Portuguese Costa Verde with approximately 80 000 inhabitants. It sits in a long stretch of beaches comprised of Amorosa, Rodanho and Cabedelo on the south side, Praia Norte in the centre, Carreço, Praia do Forte (aka Praia dos Ingleses), Praia da Arda (aka Mariana) on the north side.

Viana has a historical centre with stone paved streets and listed buildings, many restaurants, cafes, bars, a peculiar shopping centre called “Estação Viana” (which also serves a train and bus/coach terminal); a marina and its very own beach within walking distance which are the locals’ favourite places for long walks. If you’re keen on active holidays you’ll find a range of water sports, mountain and river activities.

Dividing the south and north side of town there’s River Lima and two bridges, with the oldest one designed by Eiffel. As soon as you reach Viana you can enjoy a full view of the town including Santa Luzia Mount sitting between the sea and the river, with its famous Santa Luzia’s Sanctuary (a must go local attraction). Our apartment is located on the slope of the west side of the mount overlooking the ocean, making it an ideal location to enjoy the relaxed sunsets from the balcony after exploring this appealing area.
