Weston Lodge is a grand Georgian building set in its own grounds. With its stylish decor this romantic and quirky spacious apartment on the second (top) floor will wow and cosset you.

You will have an allocated parking space, extensive sunny gardens and a little bit of peace and quiet.

The apartment is well stocked; from teas, coffee, etc, to wide screen TV, DVD, radio and Wifi, books and magazines to browse.

Whether your stay (minimum of 2 nights) is for family, friends or a romantic weekend get away, you could not ask for a more delightful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bath City Centre, and yet you are within seconds of quiet countryside walks which connect to the Cotswold Way.

This is a stylish and peaceful apartment within the fine setting of a Grand Georgian Bath building.

It is well appointed, quiet and has lovely countryside views and extensive gardens & parking for numerous cars.

Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms with the option of a 5th bed in the lounge or master bedroom

+ Two couples? Ideal.

+ For a group of friends? Perfect.

+ A family? Oh yes.

- Smokers? Sorry, definitely not inside the building.

- Pets? Not allowed at all, sorry.

- Hen or stag parties? Sorry, definitely not; this is a quiet residential building; so no noisy groups please.

You feel you are privileged to stay in a building such as this, which has a grand feel about it. The bathroom is the quirkiest I've ever seen.

Shops etc are only a stroll away and the walk into town is a delight, along leafy residential streets, through Royal Victoria Park, along the Royal Crescent and via the Circus to central Bath and all it's delights.

There are country side walks on the doorstep too.

The apartment has gas central heating and is carpeted in the main, with a tiled floor in the kitchen, and cushion floor in the master bathroom. There is plenty of room in the lounge for the fold-up bed, or it can go in the master bedroom.

This master bedroom is in it's own wing of the apartment, and so would be quiet for a child, if they needed to be in bed earlier than the rest of the group. Linen is provided for this bed only on request in advance.

Kitchen: Stylish well fitted separate kitchen. Equipment includes, electric oven and gas hob with extractor fan, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafetiere and all the usual cooking utensils and pans etc. Views over Bath.

Tumble dryer, ironing board, iron (and even soft water for the iron) and a hairdryer are all provided. A fold-up bed is provided for occasional use (in the lounge or master bedroom) and linen is provided to make the bed up with, when requested.

Living Room: Spacious sunny lounge with lovely outlook, comfortable 2 and 3 seater sofas. WiFi, TV with DVD player, CD/radio, mP3/iPod connection. Round dining table that can seat 6. A beautiful room with Georgian features that is very relaxing.

Hallway; Pleasant wide entrance hallway connecting the various rooms, as befits the apartment.

Towels and linen; Laundered, quality cotton sheets, duvet covers, and towels are provided at the start of your stay, and changed weekly for longer stays.

Cleaning; The property is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival, and weekly, with a linen change, for longer stays.

Amenities/Facilities: hob/stove oven fridge/freezer fridge microwave dishwasher washing machine tumble dryer iron/ironing board TV (much bigger than the one in the photo!) internet access (ethernet & WiFi) central heating

WESTON LODGE BATH

The apartment is situated up three fligts of stairs, no lift is available for those with DDA issues. The general apperance of the apartment is stylish and well decorated, with ample seating for 4 guests. The kitchen is well equipped for those wishing to cater for themselves. Two ample size bedrooms with own bathroom facilities. The larger bedroom does suffer from lack of clothes hanging space which is an issue for those staying longer. Our stay was pleasant and the apartment was warm and comfortable. I would recommend the accomodation to friends and family. The proximity to central Bath made this a very suitable location, only 10mins by car, local bus or by taxi. The cost of the taxi around £7.00.

The apartment is indeed on the second floor, and there is no lift. I think that is stated in the listing, and that it is inaccessible for wheelchair users.
However, the stairs are quite gentle and wide, with an easy rise, and a good handrail.
There is no wardrobe in the main bedroom due to the sloping ceilings; it just isn't possible. But there is actually a built in hanging space in the en-suite bathroom for that bedroom, which is easily missed.

GOOD BASE FOR VISITING BATH

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The flat was just as described and the complementary cider and bucks fizz were a welcome and highly appreciated treat.

Some practical points:

The flat is spotlessly clean, well furnished with lovely white bed linen and fluffy towels. It can be cold especially as the weather prior to our visit had been poor and the building has only single glazing so it doesn't retain the heat. The central heating works well though and the water heater is very efficient.

The master bedroom,with the sloping ceilings means there is a risk of bumping your head, especially as the only way the bed can fit is within quite a narrow space.
There is very little storage space in this room.

The photos do give an accurate impression of the apartment.

We found that the blinds let a lot of light into the rooms so this is something to be aware of if you prefer a darker bedroom in the morning.

The kitchen was excellent, clean and well equipped.

Finally, as enthusiastic walkers we were surprised to find it took us rather longer than the 30 minutes mentioned to walk into town, more like 45. However the route itself was most enjoyable once you got to the park.

Parking in Bath is not easy so having a base with its own private parking was most convenient.


Overall we found this a very convenient base from which to visit Bath and liaison with the owner was efficient. The procedure for obtaining the key worked very smoothly.

A highlight of our stay was a visit to the American Museum which is conveniently close to the university and memories of happy times as a student there. Lunch in the students union is still a bargain!

I would recommend this apartment to all those who have no problems with stairs.

With regard to the points you raise;
for the master bedroom there is a hanging space in the en-suite bathroom, as well as two chests of drawers, which is fairly normal.
I think the wands to control the angle of the blinds may have been broken prior to your stay, sorry; this does make it difficult to reduce the light coming in.
These have been replaced now.
We do provide an extra heater for the master bedroom, as it is hard to heat, and guests are encouraged to use it.
It is less than 2 miles to Gay Street, in the centre of Bath, which I can walk in 30 minutes easily, but I do have long legs!

GREAT FLAT IN BATH

Dear Jon,
Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely flat in Bath. The flat was much larger than we were expecting and kitchen was well equipped. The master bath in the attic space is huge. The living/dining area were comfortable, well appointed and spacious. It was easy working with you and we appreciated your efficiency. Location was fine. We walked into town by way of the Crescent (downhill, 20 minutes) and took a taxi back (uphill, 13 GBP for 5 of us) as we figured that was cheaper than parking and the headache of driving downtown with its one way streets etc. We really enjoyed the flat. Thanks again!

Owner's Response: Well, thank you! I was a bit surprised by the price you paid for a taxi, but on checking I found that a 4 seater would be around £7, a 5 seater £11, and more after midnight, so it was OK. A taxi is nearly as cheap as parking in central Bath for more than 4 hours anyway, and much less hassle too.

Wir verbrachten eine sehr, sehr schöne Zeit in dieser großen und hellen Wohnung und fühlten uns von der 1. Minuten an wohl.
Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem sehr gepflegtem Zustand und ist sehr gut ausgestattet.
Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter verlief schnell und unkompliziert.
Wir können dieses Feriendomizil unbedingt weiterempfehlen und hoffen selbst in naher Zukunft dort wieder zu Gast sein zu können.
Die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel sind zu Fuß in 5 Minuten zu erreichen - ein Lebensmittelgeschäft ebenfalls fußläufig zu erreichen.
Von der Wohnung selbst aus kann man schöne Spaziergänge in die Umgebung unternehmen.
