In the historical center of Venice, close to San Marco Square and the Biennale Garden, inside the magical web of streets that connect Riva degli Schiavoni to Arsenal, you find 'Al Pestrin', your home in Venice. It is equipped with internet wi-fi. It has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with sofa/bed and pouf/bed, bathroom with tub, washer and dryer, double bedroom, single bedroom with extra bed. Al Pestrin is well served by supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, shops, banks, baccari (the typical Venetian bars) etc. It is a delightful apartment, bright because it is the 3 rd floor (no elevator), and from its windows you can enjoy a splendid view of the altane, terraces built wooden blinds on the roofs.

It 's very bright and very close to Piazza San Marco and the Biennale Gardens. In the morning and in the evening, you can watch the magnificent spectacle of sunrise and sunset along the Riva degli Schiavoni, with the sun rising from the east and sets in the west reflecting on the water of the lagoon.

Most pleasant stay!

As a family of five, finding comfortable and affordable accommodations in Europe for our recent trip was a challenge. Claudia's apartment was sufficiently spacious, clean, bright, and very reasonably priced. Located in a slightly quieter part of the island, it was still conveniently close to tourist sites, restaurants, vaporetto stops and the grocery store. Claudia was extremely pleasant to deal with and provided lots of information prior to our arrival that helped us plan a very memorable stay. The kitchen was well equipped and having air conditioning and wifi was a big plus. Molto grazie, Claudia. A la prossima volta!

Very charming, clean and bright

My husband , myself and adult son stayed here June 9th -14th. The location was superb and the apartment lovely and well stocked with decent kitchen wares.It was extremely hot when we visited so the air conditioning was a blessing for us. The beds and linens were of good quality and comfortable. WiFi was excellent. I would give it 5 stars except that the water pressure in the shower was very low and the hot water came and went so blasts of cold then hot again. All in all very good value and so homey. I would definitely stay again .

Cheerful with great location

Great location and easy to find from the vaporetto. Spacious, bright and cheerful apartment. 4th floor--no elevator. Low water pressure for showers. No extra toilet paper or dish soap but grocery store was conveniently located nearby, as were some great restaurants.

Owner's Response: The apartment is on the third floor according to the Italian numbering, on the fourth floor according to the American numbering.
In Venice, the upper floors are definitely bright. The lower floors very easily dark and wet. The historical center is very old, so it is very difficult to find homes with elevator.
The problem of low water pressure was solved immediately, as soon as the guest afar you pointed to me the problem.
Extra toilet paper and dish soap is not generally provided when you rent the entire apartment. As a courtesy to guests, anyway, II always put in the house toilet paper and a personal set of welcome which also includes the need for toilet (shampoo and soap for example).

Claudia was a fabulous host and great source of tourist information! She let us store our luggage in the apartment on our last day.
We love her apartment. It was exactly like it was shown in the photos here. Thank you also for waiting patiently for us at the apartment. We truly had a very enjoyable stay at Venice!

Confortable, cozy, well equipped

Comfortable and cozy apartment, well equipped with everything for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The flat is a 10 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco and 15 from Biennale Gardens but in a quiet and peaceful street. The owner is very friendly and always helpful, I couldn't connect to the wi-fi and she immediately sent a technician who solved the problem. A very recommended apartment.

Altstadtcharme mit Abstrichen

Wir haben mit drei Personen eine Woche hier verbracht und waren teilweise zufrieden, teilweise aber auch enttäuscht.

Pro: Die Wohnung ist hell und groß, sie liegt sehr zentral (wobei man natürlich die entsprechende Geräuschkulisse in Kauf nehmen muss), in einem typisch italienischen Mietshaus. Etliche Touristenattraktionen sind von hier zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch mehrere Anlegestationen sind fußläufig gelegen. In direkter Nähe des Hauses gibt es einen Bäcker, einen Fleischer, mehrere Lebensmittelgeschäfte, einen Drogeriemarkt und einige Restaurants in unterschiedlicher Preislage. Die Küche ist einfach, aber zweckmäßig ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was man von einer Ferienwohnung erwartet. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin verlief angenehm, die zur Verfügung gestellten Unterlagen waren ausführlich und informativ.

Kontra: Die Wohnung ist zwar oberflächlich sauber, aber ziemlich verwohnt (was nach den Fotos so nicht zu erwarten war) und teilweise dringend renovierungsbedürftig, insbesondere das Bad. Der mangelnde Wasserdruck, verbunden mit heftigsten Temperaturwechseln, machte das Duschen jeden Morgen zu einem zeitraubenden Ärgernis. Am Waschbecken reichte der Wasserdruck teilweise nicht einmal aus, um sich die Hände zu waschen oder die Zähne zu putzen. Der Badewannenvorleger war verdreckt, der Duschvorhang sogar verschimmelt. Auch in den Spalten zwischen den Außen- und Innenfenstern der Wohnung ist teilweise deutlicher Schimmelbefall zu bemängeln. Dringend gewünscht hätten wir uns Fliegengitter gegen die nächtlichen Angriffe der zahlreichen Stechmücken.

Fazit: Beim nächsten Venedig-Besuch werden wir eine andere Unterkunft suchen.

Owner's Response: L'appartamento è sempre affittato e fino ad ora nessuno si è mai lamentato. A chi conferma la prenotazione, io invio informazioni pratiche, come hanno confermato gli ospiti, e raccomando di contattarmi personalmente per qualsiasi problema poiché sono sempre disponibile, come è mio dovere verso chi paga per avere un servizio. Se mi avessero contattata, sarei intervenuta subito per risolvere i problemi. Ma io non sono stata mai contattata. Eppure, come hanno ammesso anche loro, comunicare con me è molto facile. Il mio obiettivo è offrire un alloggio nelle stesse condizioni in cui vorrei trovarlo io quando viaggio, è questa la regola che seguo. L'appartamento è in una casa d'epoca e, come molte case d'epoca, in bagno ci sono due rubinetti: uno per l'acqua calda e uno per l'acqua fredda. Non c'è un moderno miscelatore. La caldaia è nuova, è stata cambiata a luglio, quindi bastava girare una manopola per regolare la pressione dell'acqua. La tenda della doccia viene lavata regolarmente e quindi non ha la muffa (se così fosse sarebbe molto grave), ma fiori scoloriti nella parte bassa. La pulizia viene effettuata da una ditta specializzata. L'appartamento è in un piccolo palazzetto d'epoca che risale addirittura al 1200, quindi è evidente che non è nuovo. E' stato restaurato tre anni fa e imbiancato in primavera. E' stato in parte imbiancato pochi giorni fa perché le valigie degli ospiti hanno rovinato le pareti. Zanzare: le finestre non hanno le zanzariere, non sono indicate nell'annuncio e questi ospiti non me le hanno richieste. Io sono sempre molto chiara quando parlo dei servizi dell'alloggio, proprio per evitare incomprensioni.

Central but quiet, because in a street outside the noisy of domestic tourists, the apartment is located in one of the oldest area of Venice, where you meet venetians more than tourists. If you walk along Riva degli Schiavoni, fantastic when the lagoon is illuminated by the morning sun, and go to the Gardens of the Biennale, encounters the picturesque Via Garibaldi, very Venetian and unknown to the mass tourism, , which is typical for its restorants, its local market and the oldest fish shops. I advise you to have breakfast there in one of its many cafes. However, if you go to Piazza San Marco (you reach really in 10 minutes), you immerse yourself in the best-known Venice which needs no introduction. If you try an alternative way to visit the city, you can miss you inside the labyrinth of quiet and peaceful calli (streets) wandering aimlessly: every corner reserves a surprise. If you fear this adventurous lightness, you can follow your guide. Fortunately, no guide will protect you from the possibility of losing you, and if it happens, you should support it.
