1 and 2 bedroom studios in historic location

This hotel has been beautifully restored to reflect the traditional character of this old merchant house. Compact, yet comfortable, simply charming without being ostentatious, this small haven is ideally placed to both explore and retreat.

Ceiling rings, cornice detail, exposed brick and stone work add to the character while the furnishings compliment the historical period of the room.

Studio rooms:

Studio (Shower room, double bed (twin beds OR), small fridge/freezer, 2 ring ceramic hob, kettle, satellite TV, computer/DVD, A/C, WiFi, safety deposit).

Situated at the top of the building. On the ground floor, in the compact open-plan lounge/kitchenette-diner, a small kitchen area satisfies any basic cooking needs that you may have. The apartment also enjoys French-door access to a rear balcony and a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs leads to the two bedrooms that are situated in the eaves of the property and have fabulous old exposed beam details. Both bedrooms have their own separate shower room.

About Emma

I’m quite new to Montenegro but I’m having a great time discovering the country and visiting all our wonderful properties. My favourite properties are in the centre of towns or villages so I can walk to coffee shops and enjoy the atmosphere of the Old Towns.

Emma purchased this hotel in 2012

Why Emma chose Kotor

It's well finished, comfortable and nestled in the windy streets of Kotor Old town with a wine shop underneath, where the owners are more than happy to introduce you to the local wines. Kotor Old Town is known for it's lively atmosphere, with a great variety of branded shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and the walk to the top of the fortress which gives you great views of the bay.

What makes this hotel unique

The location is fantastic and breakfast is included to get you ready for a day of exploration.

Great little find

  • 5 out of 5
Hidden in Kotor Old Town, this was a great little find that provided good, clean accommodation for our week long stay. A nice breakfast was served every morning and we got a lot of helpful advice about what to do and where to go. Loved the wine tasting - a bit of fun and nice way to meet others too. Good little hotel.

Tucked away in the tight and twisting stone alleyways of Kotor and set above a rustic wine shop is the boutique apart-hotel of Kotor Wine Rooms. This lovingly-restored building, with its tiled staircase, exposed traditional stone walls and beamed ceilings, is an ideal place to soak up the history of this UNESCO protected town - undoubtedly one of the best preserved medieval old towns in the Adriatic.

Overlooked by the imposing and lofty Lovcen Mountain and surrounded by fortifications built during the Venetian period, it is easy to see why this town played such a significant strategic role in trade and commerce for its imperial rulers including the Romans through to the Venetians, Ottomans and Habsburgs. Trade and commerce is still a feature for Kotor - now in the form of its excellent restaurants, cafes and cool bars. It's easy to lose yourself in the shaded, mazed-alleyways, safe in the knowledge that you are never too far away from a coffee pick-me-up or the reward of a 'sladoled'.

With so much to offer the senses inside the walls, just don’t forget there is a life outside.

Notes:
The honey-coloured exposed brickwork hints at the Kotor Wine Rooms' former origins as an old-stone merchant’s house. It has now been transformed into a charming apartment-hotel, with an awesome location in the heart of ancient Kotor old town. This apartment-hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the delights of the UNESCO world-heritage site of Kotor. Wander the ancient alleyways and cobble-stoned squares with so much history to soak up, gaze at the yachts bobbing around in the harbour or just while away the hours in a café. The marina at Tivat and beaches of the Lustica peninsula are also only a short drive away. And of course swimming in the bay is just a quick stroll away. The KotorWine Rooms - studios above a rustic wine shop - have been beautifully restored, with exposed traditional stone walls adding to the charm.
