About Helen Farthing

Hello I'm Helen, I deal with all enquiries and I keep the Boathouse to a high standard. I am continually tweeking the property to make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable.

Moved to the Lake District in 1989 from Lincolnshire and I still marvel at the views. I enjoy being outside and make use of the lake and mountains.

Absolutely beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family have just enjoyed a lovely weekend at the stunning 'Walkers Boathouse'. Every final detail has been thought of including a beautiful welcome pack, fresh flowers, toiletries etc. Spotlessly clean and fully equipped for every occasion, even including games for the children and adults. Amazing view that you could never tire of and the location is fantastic...a lovely bar/restaurant two minutes walk away and Bowness only 1 mile away so a lovely walk. We honestly could not fault it at all and will definitely be returning.....a great find!

Idyllic house in an idyllic setting

  • 5 of 5

Walkers boathouse was everything we could have asked for in holiday accommodation. It was exactly as portrayed in the on-line description and the pictures were a true reflection of the accommodation and its situation. The property is very well maintained and we would very much recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District. We will certainly be back.

We particularly enjoyed taking the Nab ferry with our children and grandchildren to explore nearby; and sitting on the boathouse deck watching the world go bye.

The Boathouse restaurant is only a couple of minutes walk away and has something for everyone on the menu.

Excellent Luxury Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a great weekend at Walkers Boathouse Bowness on Windermere – facilities were excellent and the accommodation was immaculate, views across the lake were stunning. The extra touches from Helen made this an extremely enjoyable experience, from the welcome bread, milk and butter in the fridge on our arrival to the fresh flowers and welcoming bottle of wine. Everything you need has been lovingly and carefully thought of. The rooms were spacious and the beds were really comfortable. This is the cleanest accommodation I have ever stayed in. This accommodation was recommended by a friend and I will be certainly be recommending Walkers Boathouse to my friends and family.

Great property in a wonderful location.

  • 5 of 5

The Boat House is clean, modern and well equipped and has lots of charm and character. The location is great; a view of the Lake; comfortable walking distance into Bowness for shops and restaurants but also a great base for walking, with the ferry across the Lake taking you to some great walks.

a most beautiful boathouse in an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful boathouse is so well laid out, has everything you could possibly need and is so warm and cosy we just did not want to leave. The view from the front is to die for and cannot be beaten. We have stayed in many places in the Lake District and this is the best ever. The communication and service was brilliant, the welcome pack better than any other and I will certainly be recommending it to everyone i speak to. We had great meals in "The Boathouse" in the marina just a few minutes walk away and in "The Village" in Bowness. We took the ferry for lovely peaceful and quiet walks away from the crowds on the far side of the lake but more than anything we sat and looked at the view. Thank you so much for a great break.

Excellent and highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

The boathouse was very warm and had all the home comforts combined with a superb view over lake Windermere. Immaculately clean, spacious and stylish, it was an idyllic place to spend Christmas. It was quiet and secluded, yet near all necessary amenities. The kitchen was very well equipped and made it easy to cook Christmas lunch. A very welcoming place with a lovely seasonal and generous welcome pack. Booths excellent supermarket is very near as well as Lakeland kitchen shop. We enjoyed gentle walks into Bowness, round Tarn Hows and to Orrest Head. The Boathouse Bar at the Marina - 3/4 minutes walk away - was also very welcoming and offered delicious food all day. We definitely would recommend this property.
