Omis is a small and peaceful town located in the heart of the Dalmatian region of Croatia. Built over 1,500 years ago, the building has been remarkably preserved and has imposing walls that give stunning views of the Dalmatian coastline. The palace is home to several archaeological exhibits and the cavernous cellars are worth visiting this historical building alone.
For those who love walking or cycling, Marjan Hill is not to be missed. Towering over Split, Marjan Hill has several trails to follow, one of the most travelled being the up-and-over route. There is also a zoo located at the top of the hill and a beach at the bottom of the other side.
Omis and the Omis Riviera are blessed with a Mediterranean climate. Visitors can experience mild winters and very warm summers when they visit this part of Croatia. July is the warmest month of the year, with it regularly reaching temperatures of 25°C during the day. Spring and summer are the dryer of the four seasons with moderate rain occurring during autumn and winter. Omis and indeed the whole of Croatia rarely sees any snow at all.
