The main street that runs through the centre of the village is where all the action is in Montferrat, and along here you will find an array of shops, small supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and other local businesses. All of your basic needs can be attended to in this stretch of town, though you may wish to make the short drive to Draguignan to fully stock up on food supplies at a larger supermarket.

There are a couple of old buildings of note in the centre of Montferrat, namely a Romanesque chapel   - which sits on the site of an ancient pagan temple, and the small but perfectly formed church of Sant Roch, which lies just off the main street.

Many people head to this part of France to partake in outdoor activities, and the countryside that surrounds Montferrat is laden with dense forest that makes for great walks and hikes. A well-trodden path takes walkers uphill to the site of the old village centre, and offers some excellent views of the region. Another enjoyable hike runs in a loop through the Beaudron hills, and these are countless others to choose from.

After a few days of relaxing and enjoying all that Montferrat has to offer, you will likely wish to get out and explore the surrounding region. The Draguignan region is blessed with many tiny medieval villages worth a look, with the nearest to Montferrat being Chateaudouble (4km). Draguignan itself is just 14km away, and has the most in the local area in terms of amenities, as well as some excellent museums and an excellent weekly market.

 Montferrat apartments and villas are at their busiest during summer months, when temperatures can regularly exceed 30°C and rainfall is around its lowest. Spring and early autumn are also good times for a visit, and ideal if you prefer slightly cooler (but still more than pleasant) temperatures. Winter is mild but sees increased levels of rainfall.
