Mont Tremblant is Quebec’s primary ski resort, providing visitors with fantastic skiing and a huge range of off-slope entertainment, from traditional après-ski to relaxing spa centres, golf courses to paintballing. The stunningly picturesque village sits peacefully in the lee of the huge, towering peaks of Mont Tremblant, but it is the new resort of Mont Tremblant some 13km away which stands directly at the foot of the pistes, memorable for its multi-coloured, almost Disney-esque chalets.
Mont Tremblant is the highest peak in the Laurentian Mountains, and is renowned for having the finest slopes for skiing and snowboarding in the whole of Quebec. There are many miles of superb downhill pistes to conquer, as well as more off-slope activities than you can shake a stick at. There are frequent dog sledding opportunities, a vast range of snowshoe trails, ice climbing routes and horse riding trails throughout the domain, but it is the spa and massage facilities that really excite people after a long day of exercise in the snow.
There is plenty to excite skiers and snowboarders from self catering Mont Tremblant holiday chalets. The off-piste potential is simply staggering, with vast swathes of virgin snow stretching as far as the eye can see in some directions and enough man-made facilities and terrains to explore, especially the Grey Rocks Snow Park.
During the summer months, there are simply too many activities to try in year. The spa and massage centres remain open all year, and there are many opportunities to play golf and tennis, test your shooting at the clay-pigeon range or in the paintballing centre, go fishing or hunting, tour the stunning landscape on foot, horseback, mountain bike or on a quad bike, or even get wet water skiing, white water rafting or cliff diving! The summer is a simply wonderful time to be staying in self catering Mont Tremblant accommodation, as the breath-taking scenery is also an outdoor enthusiasts dream.
Not far from a Mont Tremblant chalet is the village of Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, a traditional mountain village with one of the friendliest atmospheres you could possible encounter on your travels. It is a fantastic place to visit and to base any ventures into the mountains and forests during the summer months.
Winters are obviously cold, with average temperatures for the winter months remaining below 0˚C. However, the summer months may be surprise due to the warmth! Temperatures in Mont Tremblant during the summer average around 21˚C, with temperatures during the days being blissfully warm, perfect for playing golf and walking in the hills.
Amazingly, there is an airport connected to the ski resort of Mont Tremblant! Its claim to fame is a charming one, offering the world’s only wooden airport terminal! There are no direct flights from the UK to Mont Tremblant Airport (YTM), but there are regular flights from Montreal and Newark.
