Holidaymakers looking to get a way to an area full of history and wonderful scenic views should visit the Meuse department of France. Located in the north east of the country, Meuse has many towns and villages with interesting things for holidaymakers to see and do. Meuse offers many lovely places for hiking, cycling and horse riding with picturesque villages, forests and lush valleys to explore. A little further afield in Reims there are more war memories to be seen by way of the battlefields. Visitors may also like to take a trip to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower and other attractions, which should only take two to three hours to reach by car.
The climate in North East France is similar to Southern England with the warmest months normally July and August and the coldest December to February. Average high temperatures in Meuse are about 22 degrees centigrade in July and August. In January the average high is five degrees centigrade, but temperatures can fall below zero in winter. Rainfall is moderate in the summer with June and July averaging about eight hours of sunshine per day.
