Marbella, Spain, is among the most famous places on the Costa del Sol in Andalusia. As a luxurious resort town, Marbella has all the facilities, entertainment and sports you could wish for when you first decide to take a self catering Marbella villa. Like many towns in the region, there are two parts to the town, the humble old town, with beautiful, cobbled streets which open into picturesque squares like the famous Orange Square, and the newer part of town where the majority of leisure facilities, restaurants and rental apartments in Marbella are found. However, wherever you first decide to rent Marbella accommodation, it is hugely likely you will return, many times.
Upon your arrival in a Marbella rental property, the best way to start to get your bearings is to walk to the beautiful Orange Square in the heart of the old town. Here you will find a range of delightful little shops, art galleries, bars and exquisite Spanish restaurants. Marbella’s old centre is a centre of activity day and night, with the maze of streets hiding many boutiques and gems of local cuisine.
Of course, I will not take you long to discover the beaches. With over 26km of fine golden sand right on the doorstep of your Marbella rental villa, there is plenty to choose from. To reach the beaches, the promenade, La Alameda, is one of the nicest in the whole of Spain, still largely free of tourist style tat shops, instead lined by excellent restaurants serving all kinds of delicacies.
The Costa del Sol is sometimes referred to as the Costa del Golf, and anyone who has taken a Marbella villa or rental apartment before will know why. There are a much number of top class golf courses all along the coastline, many designed by world class golfers, meaning you can certainly get a few rounds on challenging, scenic courses during your stay in a Marbella property. Golf is not the only sport on offer though; some of the best facilities along the coast for tennis, horse riding (in the mountains), mountain biking, paragliding, sailing and almost every water sport can be found in Marbella, Spain.
Taking a private holiday rental in Marbella gives you the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife too. There are numerous pubs, bars and lively nightclubs to enjoy, and there is even a large casino.
If you would like to get away from the bustle which surrounds your Marbella apartment, the Sierra Bermeja Mountains rise up behind the town, offering the perfect place to relax, exploring the mountains in a 4x4 or on foot. Either way, you will be treated to some stunning views of the coast, over both Marbella and Puerto Banus, the luxury resort of the rich and famous where multi-million pound yachts are left in the harbour whilst their owners enjoy the excellent nightlife.
There is never a bad time to rent a Marbella villa. With annual temperatures of 19°C and 320 days of sunshine, you are bound to be blessed with excellent weather.
It is very easy to reach your rental accommodation in Marbella; many ‘no frills’ airlines provide cheap flights direct from across the UK to Malaga Airport, just half an hour east of Marbella, Spain. At the airport, there are numerous transfer options, meaning you can be settling into your luxury Marbella villa within just a few hours of leaving home.
