Englewood is a beach community which includes several islands and straddles two counties. It is a good center for shops, restaurants, nature parks and nightclubs and generally has some cultural events going on. It has its own beach with amenities and to the south, Stump Pass Beach is a popular place for fishing.
Port Charlotte Beach has a wide expanse of sand and offers plenty of pleasant walks. Visitors can kayak or canoe along the shallow waters of the Peace and Myakka Rivers which run through the park.Venice

Tampa International (TPA) Airport also has regular flights from all over the US and Europe and is 88 miles away. The best way to reach Manasota Key is to hire a car at the airport and drive along the I-75.
