Holiday apartments in Beach Club of Marco Island provide a perfect opportunity to sample the quintessential Florida holiday experience. With a western seaboard of over ten miles of pure-white sanded beach, the island itself is riddled with canals connecting every corner, so a boat can be just as convenient as a car; even more so should guests wish to explore the waterways of the Everglades just to the east. Golf-mad Naples lies to the north, meaning Beach Club of Marco Island rentals make a great base for playing one or more of the city's 80 or so courses. Most accommodation in Beach Club of Marco Island comes with air-conditioning, beach and pool access. Some are also family friendly and wheelchair accessible.
-Beaches: Beach Club of Marco Island apartments are located right on the ten miles of sugar-white beach that line the western edge of the resort. So much beach means lots of space, but if even more seclusion is desired, there are many deserted beaches on the hundreds of uninhabited islands nearby.
-Watersports: With so much affinity for boating, Beach Club of Marco Island rentals are a perfect centre for water rats, whether it be surfing on the beach or nature-watching from an airboat in the Everglades. Numerous marinas dot the island to ply the tourist trade, and competition means charter deals are aplenty.
-Nature: This area of coast is where the Everglades meets the Gulf of Mexico, so fresh and saltwater habits clash and mesh, giving rise to a huge variety of flora and fauna. Exploration can be by boat, on foot, by mountain bike or even horseback.
-Nightlife: Beachfront establishments cater to the surfers, fishermen and tourists, so a laid-back ambience pervades. Marco Island has a fairly wealthy and mature resident population, however, so the nightlife can be a little restrained and refined if a wild time is desired. The city of Naples just to the north, however, more comfortably caters to energetic partiers.
-Shopping: The shopping reflects the nightlife: it's laid-back but refined. For a fairly small community there are a surprising number of shopping centres, all very pleasant atmospheres in which to browse. Within walking distance of the Beach Club of Marco Island is the Marco Walk Shopping Centre, while Marco Town Centre Mall is only a short drive (or boat trip) away.
Florida has a fairly predictable climate, if thunderstorms can be called predictable. The summer is the wet season: long and humid, and as a result generating many thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings. Temperatures top out in the mid-30°C range, though the humidity tends to make it feel hotter. Winter high temperatures are far more agreeable in the low-20s, with little rainfall, and somewhat resembling a dry UK summer.
Fly/drive packages are the best way to travel in America, if their popularity with the residents and visitors is anything to go by. Other forms of transport tend to be largely ignored, and suffer in service as a result. The nearest airport to Marco Island is Southwest Florida International Airport, at 47 miles away, but there are no direct flights to Europe or the UK from this location, despite the 'international' label. For a direct flight, Miami International is the closest, at 120 miles away.
