Close enough to Orlando's sights, but far enough away for some peace and quiet, holiday villas in Apopka are superbly positioned to allow guests to immerse themselves in the thrills Orlando is famous for, yet provide a restful retreat for the day's end. They can also, of course, be used as a base to explore the surrounding nature. The huge Ocala National Forest lies only twenty miles or so to the north, and the lakeland surrounding Apopka holiday accommodation is well known as a holiday destination in itself. All rentals in Apopka come with satellite or cable television, and most are sited right by a golf course. Some also have BBQ areas, internet access, and even a pool.
-Nature: Ocala National Forest is a huge expanse of pine forest, and features the popular Juniper Springs Recreation Area at its heart. For outdoor pursuits there's nowhere else on the eastern US coast to really compare. Of course, Apopka is also convenient for the lakeland of central Florida, so Apopka rentals are handy for watersports here, too.
-Watersports: Both coasts are only a little over an hour's drive away, so maritime watersports are quite available, but there are many other options on the freshwater lakes surrounding Apopka holiday apartments and villas, especially around Lakes Harris, Dora and Eustis, which are just a few minutes away by car.
-Beaches: While many of the surrounding lakes have shores perfectly adequate for beach pursuits, for the true Florida experience the sandy beaches of either coast are only an hour away. On Apopka's latitude, however, the best option for a sandy beach experience is to head east to the Atlantic coast.
-Theme Parks: The world-famous amusement parks of Orlando are only 15 miles away from Apopka. With a long list to choose from, guests are advised to start with the big boys: Disney World and Universal Studios are difficult to top, and each resort can easily be a holiday in itself. Other noteworthy parks include Legoland and Sea World.
-Nightlife: With a nice selection of chain restaurants and locally owned establishments, Apopka is a pretty diverse place to eat out. Bars are a little thin on the ground, however, but Orlando is a short drive or quite accessible by public transport or taxi if a more rowdy time is desired.
Florida's subtropical climate typically means two main seasons: the wet and the dry. The humid wet season falls during the summer months, from May to October, when high temperatures hover around the mid-30°C range and most of the rain falls as thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings. The short, dry winter season lacks significant precipitation and temperatures often hit the mid-20s.
Flying into Apopka couldn't be easier, with direct flights from the UK to both of Orlando's international airports. Orlando International Airport is only 34 miles away, while Orlando-Sanford International Airport is a little closer at 26 miles. Orlando-Sanford has a broader range of Airlines making the transatlantic trip, and more of the budget variety. Apopka is also doable by public transport if desired, though a fly/drive package is always the most convenient and least expensive option when travelling to the US.
