Travellers will enjoy exploring the underwater seascape around Koh Tao. Classroom sessions precede practical time in the water, and are geared toward both beginners and seasoned experts. Recently refurbished, Ban's Diving School certifies more scuba divers than any diving school worldwide.
Koh Tao Bowling and Mini-Golf:
Located halfway between Mae Hat and Chalok Ban Kao, Koh Tao Bowling & Mini Golf has several lanes. Employees reset the pins by hand rather than an automated system. The 18-hole mini-golf course is decorated with landmarks from all over the world. Ko Tao Bowling and Mini-Golf is the perfect activity for families with children.
Located on the Blue Wind resort on Sairee Beach, the Shambhala yoga center is the only full-time yoga retreat on the island. Led by Kester, an experienced, energetic teacher, Shambhala offers classes for beginners and experts alike. Classes start at 300 Baht.
Weather in Koh Tao
Koh Tao lies on the eastern side of Thailand, and therefore experiences monsoon season from September to December. Vacations during this time are not recommended as the rain is nearly constant and flooding can become somewhat dangerous. During the dry and cool season – in the earliest part of the calendar year – temperatures in Thailand range from 19-31°C.
Travel to Koh Tao
The simplest way to arrive in Koh Tao is to fly into Samui Airport (USM) on the island of Koh Samui. From here, a series of ferries bring visitors to Koh Tao. On the island itself, motorbikes are available for rent, and water taxis will take travellers to beaches that are harder to reach.
