Situated in the north coast of Menorca (Minorca) between the large resorts of Arenal d’en Castell and Fornells is the small beach resort of Son Parc. It is a delightful resort with a quiet, tranquil atmosphere, an excellent, shallow beach and Menorca’s only golf course.

If you have spent the morning trying some of Son Parc’s famous restaurants, a walk up the nearby peak of Mount Toro, Menorca’s highest point, is a great way to burn a few calories. It is very easy to reach if you are staying in an apartment or self catering villa in Son Parc and the secluded sanctuary of Mare de Deu del Toro is well worth the effort.
Menorca’s fiestas are excellent. Although many sceptics think that they are put on for tourists, but these fiestas have been going on since the 14th century. There are many throughout the year, including the Menorcan Horse Fair in May. These fiestas tend to start in the early afternoon, which means you can still enjoy a lie-in in your Son Parc apartment before joining in with the revelry.
The closest resort to a self catering villa in Son Parc is the resort of Arenal d’en Castell which is a lively family resort offering every water sport imaginable.
Fornells is a little fishing village on the other side of Son Parc, with a beautiful sandy beach. It is best known for its sailing and windsurfing facilities, schools and equipment hire. The winds which cross the bay are reliable and stiff, creating perfect conditions for the sports.
In summer, average temperatures reach a delightful 30˚C, and the sea breezes which cross the island mean that although it is warm, it never becomes stiflingly hot. With an aver age of 315 days of sunshine and average winter temperatures of 15˚C, Son Parc accommodation is the perfect option for a family or golf holiday throughout the year.
