Ondara - A Place with Perfect Connections

A holiday rental in Ondara is a magnificnet base from which to explore. Close to the town of Ondara is the friendly village of Beniarbeig with its traditional shops, bank and chemist, and a wonderful openair market which visits the village's boule court in the centre every Tuesday. Internet access is available at the modern town hall’s library and information can be had about the village, its events and facilities. There are bars that serve traditional meals, tapas and a pizzeria with views of the newly landscaped river park. Two excellent restaurants are found three minutes away by car. It is pleasant to walk in the surrounding countryside where the agriculture is mainly orange groves. Beniarbeig fiesta is during the last two weeks of August when there are parades with the local band, street entertainment, dancing and superb firework displays.

It is a short bus ride to Vergel and a little known gorgeous sandy beach, as well as a Safari Park. A little further along the route is Denia with its Marina, fishing port and waterfront restaurants. From here a narrow gauge railway meanders along the coast as far as Alicante. A boat trip to Javea will take you around the Montgo Natural Park and Marine Reserve.

Ondara is home to the Portal de la Marina, a huge new air conditioned shopping complex with free covered parking. There are lots of eateries including a McDonalds for the children, cinema screens and bowling. Two supermarkets in the town have fresh fish and meat counters where you can choose food for the BBQ and there is a hire shop with a vast selection of DVDs. Concerts are often held at the Bull Ring, known as the jewel of the marina for its architecture.

There are two golf courses within 10 minutes drive, Oliva Nova and La Sella which is situated by the Marriott Hotel and Spa. Ondara is a very convenient place to visit the many coastal resorts and inland attractions or to spend a summer evening in the village square sipping a glass of wine and watching life go by.
