Dos Hermanas, which means Two Sisters, is a small town on the outskirts of Seville. It is a popular commuter town for those working in Seville, yet has retained its historic charm and character. It is named after Elvira and Stephanie Nazareth who, according to legend, discovered a bell and a statue of Santa Ana in a cave and founded a church in the town. The Pilgrimage of Valme takes place in October and attracts thousands of visitors, the May Fair is another major annual attraction.
