Cabra in Spanish means “goat” but the town was more likely named after the 10th century poet Al-Cabri than the animal. The town has an Arab heritage with a history dating back to pre-Roman times. It has a Moorish Castle and other interesting buildings, convents, palaces and churches making holiday rentals in Cabra the ideal base for enjoying this unspoilt area of Andalusia.

In the opposite direction lies the city of Cordoba with its UNESCO listed Old Town set beside the Guadalquivir River.
