Summers bring temperatures around 30ºC or higher each day, and the season lasts from May through October. Gentle winds from the Atlantic keep it cool and bearable. During the winter months, temperatures are usually around 17ºC with plenty of sunshine and little rain. When rain does fall, it is usually just a quick shower.
Faro Airport (FAO) is the closest to the Lagos region, and direct flights from most major European cities are regular. Lagos is about 55 miles from the airport so a drive takes about an hour by car. There is a multitude of taxis as well as car services available at the airport. Alternatively, there are buses and trains that run between Faro's city centre (only five miles from the airport) and the station in Lagos.
