Visitors will find some shops too with souvenirs available including a few local arts and crafts. Self catering holidaymakers will be able to purchase items from the nearby food shop. Marsalforn has a larger choice of shops and restaurants.

Ghasri has some wonderful sites including the 19th century lighthouse that rises 180 metres above sea level. The old chapel dedicated to the Patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary is also a fine building worth visiting. The Gharb Folklore Museum is an 18th century historical house full of antique tools and artefacts and is about five minute’s drive away.

The warmest time of the year to visit Malta is generally July and August when the average high is approximately 32 degrees centigrade. January and February are the coolest months with an average high of 16 degrees centigrade and average lows of 10C. There is very little rainfall in Malta especially in summer. Victoria is the capital city of Gozo and offers many more interesting places to visit as well as shops and restaurants. A trip to the Maltese capital city Valetta is well worthwhile as there are many historic buildings, palaces, churches, museums and galleries here. Visitors may also like to take a trip to the fishing village St Julian’s Bay on the main island, where there is lots of nightlife and entertainment.
