Places to visit on holiday to Maldives

Not all are above water such as the Whale Submarine, which takes visitors on an excursion to see the reefs. Competent divers may like to visit the Wreck of the Maldive Victory, which sank in 1981. There are religious sights to visit here too such as the Hukuru Mosque, which is the oldest in the country. The Maldives is home to a couple of galleries and museums. The National Art Gallery and the National Museum on Male are both well worth a visit. Surrounding the National Museum is Sultan’s Park, which was once the palace grounds of the Sultan and is now an attractive place full of trees and flowers.
Weather in Maldives
The Maldives has a tropical climate with two monsoon seasons. These are the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November. The latter has more strong winds and rain. The temperature remains consistent at around 30 degrees centigrade throughout the year.
Travel to Maldives
Male International Airport (MLE) is the main international airport of the Maldives and is located on the Hulhule Island. Flights arrive here from various international airports including Brussels (BRU), London-Gatwick (LGW), Moscow-Sheremetyevo (SVO), Munich (MUC), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Rome-Fiumicino (FCO) and Zurich (ZCH) amongst others. There are boat transfers available to the other islands, while on Male visitors can hire taxis.
