Scheveningen has a long sandy beach for holidaymakers to relax on and soak up the sun as well as take a swim in the North Sea. Visitors will be able to enjoy a round of golf at the nine-hole course at the harbour here and there are tennis courts nearby too. Several shops can be found here although there is a greater choice in The Hague with large department stores as well as smaller souvenir shops. Madurodam is a miniature city located in Scheveningen and features models of typical Dutch buildings and landmarks. A tram takes visitors from Scheveningen to The Hague, which is just four kilometres away. The Hague boasts several museums such as the Panorama Mesdag and a museum for kids as well as galleries including Galerie Zuid-Holland and Galerie Edison. The parliament buildings and the Queen’s residential palace are also located in The Hague.
