For many people the ideal getaway is a vacation on a hot sunny island, so holidaymakers may like to try Gennadi on the island of Rhodes. There are plenty of interesting places for tourists to visit on the island while staying at Gennadi including historic buildings, churches and ancient ruins. One such fine sight on the island is Filerimos near the village of Trianta on the north of Rhodes. About an hour away is Rhodes City where there are fine attractions such as the Marine Aquarium and Rodini Park. The Valley of Butterflies near Tholos is another place well worth visiting. A ferry service takes holidaymakers from Rhodes to the Greek mainland where there are many fantastic ancient temples and significant buildings. Athens boasts the iconic Acropolis, which overlooks the city from the top of the Parthenon.
Summers in Rhodes are hot and dry with the average temperature in July and August about 27 degrees centigrade. January and February are the coldest months of the year with an average temperature of 12 degrees centigrade. June through to September generally sees very little rain, while December and January are the wettest months with an average of 146mm of rainfall.
Rhodes International Airport (RHO) is approximately one hour and 10 minute’s drive from Gennadi. Flights arrive here from Bremen, Brussels-Charleroi (CRL), London Stansted (STN) and Rome-Ciampino (CIA) amongst other airports with Ryanair. Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt are car rental firms located at the airport.
