Located in the Heraklion region of Crete, Greece, 20km outside the town of Heraklion itself, Analipsi has retained much of its quite, traditional charm. Sitting on a quiet beach, a self catering Analipsi villa offers a relaxing family beach holiday in the Cretan sun.
Analipsi is one of those fantastic holidays where you can do as much or as little as you like. The deep sand beach on which the village stands is a huge attraction, and many lazy days can be spend sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and relaxing in cafes and restaurants watching the world drifting on by.
However, for the more lively guests of Analipsi villa, there is plenty going on all around the village. Water sports are easily arranged, with the Star Beach Water Park just 10 minutes away has all you could wish for, even bungee jumping, and the Acquaplus Water Park is not far either. For a more placid afternoon, the Nemo Glass Bottom cruises, just 5km away, allow you to see coral reefs without getting wet.
A slightly longer drive takes you to Crete Golf Club. Although it is a new course, Crete Golf is already being mentioned alongside some of the best golf courses in the Southern Mediterranean. With fantastic fairways and even better views, and golfer staying in an Analipsi villa should remember his handicap card.
If you are looking for anything from shopping to a late night out, Heraklion town is just a 15 minute drive from Analipsi accommodation. There are a wealth of shops, big and small, bars, restaurants and a handful of nightclubs should the mood take you.
Analipsi enjoys a fantastic Mediterranean climate. Located on the coast, even during the hottest days of summer, when temperatures soar into the mid 30's, conditions are not uncomfortable. The autumn and winter months are a perfect time to sightsee, as the crowds are not as big at the main attractions, and the heat has not yet made the beaches almost impossible to ignore.
Villas in Analipsi could not be much easier to get to. Heraklion Airport (HER) is just 18km along the coast, and receives regular, direct flights from the UK and across Europe. There are busses from Heraklion, and transfers are easily arranged.
