Holidaymakers staying in Regneville-sur-Mer will find some lovely sandy beaches within easy reach. As well as sunbathing holidaymakers can participate in various watersports such as swimming, fishing, sailing and wind surfing. This area offers some wonderful scenery and is best explored by hiking, cycling and horse riding. There are some tennis courts nearby as well as a golf course about 20 minutes away at Agon-Coutainville. Staying in Regneville-sur-Mer means holidaymakers are close to many places of interest including the lovely town of Coutances, which is only 20 minute’s drive away. Tourists can visit plenty of places in Coutances such as the 11th century cathedral, the 17th century botanical gardens and the Museum Quesnel-Morinière. In addition to this the seaside resort of Granville is about 35 minutes away. Granville has great places to visit like the ancient church of Notre-Dame du Cap Lihou as well as excellent museums such as the Musee Christian Dior and the aquarium. Another fantastic place to visit is the abbey on Mont Saint-Michel, an island located one kilometre from the northwest coast and about 42 kilometres from Regneville-sur-Mer.
July and August are the warmest months of the year in Normandy with average high temperatures of 21 degrees centigrade. January and February are the coolest months with average highs of 9 degrees and lows of 4 degrees centigrade. As well as being one of the coldest months, February is also usually the driest with an average of 49mm of rainfall. December sees the highest level of precipitation with an average of 84mm.
Rennes –Saint Jacques Airport (RNS) is approximately two hour’s drive from Regneville-sur-Mer. Flights arrive here from a handful of French cities as well as Southampton (SOU) with Flybe, who also offer seasonal flights from Birmingham (BHX), Edinburgh (EDI), Exeter (EXT) and Manchester (MAN). Seasonal flights also arrive here from Barcelona (BCN) courtesy of Brit Air and from Cork and Dublin (DUB) with Aer Arann. Alamo, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National/Citer and Sixt are car hire companies represented at the airport. Alternatively a ferry service crosses from Poole and Portsmouth on the south coast of England to Cherbourg. The drive from Cherbourg to Regneville-sur-Mer takes about one and a half hours.
