The Bouches-du-Rhone department has plenty to offer day-trippers. The nearest village to Maussane-les-Alpilles is Paradou (2km), which is known locally for its bright and lovingly-maintained gardens. Also close at hand is the popular tourist spot of Les-Baux-de-Provence (5km), whilst slightly further out is the attractive market town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence (10km). The use of a hire car is recommended when staying in this part of the country.

May, September and October also receive warm (20°C plus) temperatures, but outside of summer the destination does see an increase in rainfall.
