Paralimni and the immediate area surrounding it are located on the south-eastern side of Cyprus, which is on the Greek side of the island. Ten minutes’ drive away from the more popular resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras, a holiday rental apartment in Paralimni is suitable for families, couples and groups of friends who prefer to be surrounded by home comforts in a quiet location, rather than staying in the middle of a party strip. That said, Paralimni still has a lot to offer in terms of activities during the day and bars at night, but minus a lot of the rowdiness!
A holiday in Paralimni will offer you the chance to take part in many leisure activities should you so wish. With the sea nearby, you could for instance spend some time swimming, snorkelling, fishing or diving. If you would like a break from the sea, then perhaps do some beachcombing whilst wandering along the shore, or hire a bicycle in order to cycle into one of the other resort areas.
As well as spending time in your self catering accommodation in Paralimni, and taking part in activities, you might like to see a little bit more of the immediate area and perhaps the island in general. There are a few worthwhile day trips that you can make, such as visiting Cape Greco, which is a wonderful nature reserve with many hidden coves and sea caves. The nearby resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras are also worth a trip, even if it is just to be thankful that you are on holiday in Paralimni! The village of Dherinia is also a nice place to visit, because as well as three interesting churches, it also affords views over the ghost city of Famagusta, left abandoned after the division.
Cyprus is blessed with year round good weather, although it goes without saying that some months are warmer than others. Between June and September, the temperature will almost never drop below 20 degrees Celsius, even at night, and during the day can reach as high as 30 degrees. This is considered to be peak season, and if you take a holiday in Paralimni during this time, you can expect virtually zero rainfall. During the winter, the temperatures can get as low as 6 degrees at night, but during the day, it can still reach 12 degrees even in January. Rainfall is again minimal… something that is of concern for long term residents on the island!
The closest airport to your holiday rental apartment in Paralimni is at Larnaca (LCA), and this connects with many international destinations. If you are travelling from the UK and are looking for flights, then you might be interested in British Airways who fly out of London Heathrow (LHR) and Thomson Airways who fly from Manchester (MAN).
