Bankso is a newly built resort, and as a result, boasts some magnificent facilities for every level of skier, snowboarder and snow sports enthusiast. Both beginners and seasoned experts will find plenty of entertainment from a holiday rental in Bankso, and the pistes are beautifully maintained with artificial snow in the rare event that natural snow cover is poor. Situated on the slopes below Bulgaria’s two most famous ski areas, Chalin Valog and Shiligarnika, expert skiers are particularly well catered for, and the facilities in the resort are good enough for Bankso to apply to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
During the short summer (May until October), the self catering Bankso apartments and holiday houses are the ideal base for walkers to explore the glorious treasures of the Pirin National Park, including the lakes, caves and historical finds. The natural mineral water springs which erupt from the slopes surrounding Bankso make it the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes too.
Bankso is also known as having the best après-ski in Bulgaria too, meaning that the day doesn’t finish as the lifts close! There are a range of excellent restaurants and bars to unwind in, and if you do not feel like returning to your Bankso accommodation straight after your evening meal, there are some great little clubs to enjoy too.

Borovets is very different to Bankso. It too is a leading ski resort in Bulgaria, but is one of the oldest and largest in the country. While both Bankso and Borovets have been developed to create an air of luxury, Borovets has also developed facilities for a huge range of alternative snow sports, including biathlon, ski jumping, cross country skiing, and ski-doo.
