The most important city in this region is Sao Paulo with excellent shopping and dining. One of the most upmarket areas to visit is Morumbi, home to the Morumbi Mall. The Parque Alfredo Volpi has forests, lakes and trails with a surprising number of birds, including kingfishers. The Mercado Municipal is a beautiful market hall, built in 1932 with beautiful stained glass features covering 300 stalls. Beyond the city, Sao Paulo has mountain villages and coffee plantations to visit. To the north is the Campos de Jordao or “Little Switzerland” with forest walks and a very European atmosphere. Travel to Sao Paulo
Holiday rentals in the Sao Paulo area can easily be reached from the main Guarulhos (GRU) International Airport about 25km (15 miles) to the northeast of the city. This is the hub for most international flights, before they continue on to other destinations such as Rio. Taxis and buses transfer visitors into Sao Paulo in about 45 minutes.
