Kreischberg is the nearest option, just 6km away, and is extremely popular with snowboarders. More extensive skiing can be found just 30 minutes away in the heart of the Murau region, with far less crowds far than many other ski resorts in the country.

Stadl and the surrounding area have a climate of warm summers and cold winters. Summer high’s can reach around 20C, making the region ideal for climbing, hiking and mountain biking. December, January and February are the oldest months, when the temperature plummets below 0C, with plenty of snow to keep skiers and snowboarders happy.
Flights to Stadl, Austria
Klagenfurt Airport (KLU) is a small but expanding airport situated 80km south east of Stadl, and represents the best option for getting to the chalet accommodation in the area. Only one airline flies direct from the UK (Ryanair from London Stansted), so be sure to book flights well in advance. Salzburg Airport, 110km north-west of Stadl, is an alternative option.
