Portland Airport (PTJ) is eight miles from Portland and receives flights from Adelaide (ADL), Hamilton (HLT) and two of Melbourne’s smaller airports Avalon (AVV) and Essendon (MEB). Holidaymakers from further afield can take a flight to Melbourne Airport (MEL) and transfer to Essendon to get a connecting flight to Portland. Melbourne Airport has flights from a few international airports. These include Beijing-Capital (PEK), Hong Kong (HKG), London-Heathrow (LHW) and Los Angeles (LAX). Visitors can hire a car or take a taxi from Portland Airport.
